Oregon Game

So, how winnable does this game look for us now? I know it's not fair to look into this yet because they now have no head coach and we don't know who their new coach might be, but it's kind of fun to think about the possibility.
All of my friends who are Oregon "fans" are having a stroke right now. I just told them welcome to the club.

I still dont see us winning that game. Their talent level is way ahead of ours. They have tons of spead on offense while our defense is soooooooo stinkin slow.
It might be a better game to watch but still see us losing by 14+ points.

I'm pretty sure the plan is to promote their offensive coordinator, Mark Helfrich, to head coach.
He'll run a very similar system, but I'd be surprised if they stay as fast and as aggressive as they were under Kelly.

All they are going to do is promote with in, and be the exact same team they have been. Signal callers will still be there. Still hoping they don't embarrass us to bad.

I know it is very early in the year and over 8 mos from first kick off but is anyone planning to go to this game?
I moved to PHX this last summer and would really like to make the trek up to Eugene if I can swing it. And would love to be a part of the Orange caravan in Eugene.
Plus not too often are the Vols out West.

I doubt this altered the outcome very much. maybe none.. talent difference is still farily large between the two teams. jmo

I checked on flights today just for fun - SWA isn't selling tickets in Sept yet but show around $550 per ticket in Aug. or 30,000 points - Out of Nashville to Portland. It's about 110 mile drive to Eugene.
Would be a good trip.

UT will very likely not have any tickets to sell. I would guess that season ticket holders will use the entire allotment that UT gets. stubhub and sites like that might already have them being sold on those sites.
the stadium only seats 54,000 and Oregon fans are very rabid and use their tickets. I think Tennessee is only getting like 5000 for that game..

I saw an article today that they're the only top 10 team that didn't have a single underclassman declare for the draft. Plus they'll probably just promote the OC to keep the staff and philosophy intact so I doubt there's going to be much drop off next year.
A couple yrs down the road will be when they start to get some effect if the new guy can't get the same kind of talent as Kelly.

I am in Phoenix and planning on heading up there as well. Check out the Allegiant flights from Mesa to Eugene. Hopefully the game is good, but at least Oregon is apparently a great place to visit
