has now let two different coaches whom he wanted and needed to accept the job fly far away, sleep on the decision, meet with their teams, and deliberate with other parties.
I would hate to see the job he could do if he didn't have such a level of great expertise and experience.

There are plenty of stories about ADs who went after their man, wouldn't take no for an answer, and came back to town with him on the plane for an introductory press conference.
You'd think with the single biggest hire in the program's history our AD would have that kind of conviction about someone. Don't pretend like they all play it like like Dave Hart has. He is getting major criticism from national people and it is completely deserved.

With all due respect, there is a record now of a couple coaches changing their minds after they were already introduced at a presser and then backed out. I know there's at least one other example, but Billy Donovan backing out on the Orlando Magic and going back to UF is one.
If coaches have an, ahem, "change of heart," then they just back out and ask their old employer, who presumably wanted to keep them, to bail them out financially. The prospective new employer has twice as much egg on their faces then as if the coach had just said no, IMO.
Recruiting young minds full of mush, some of whom may be having difficulty passing H.S. course work but think they are God Himself because of what they can do on the football field? A little (and by little I mean a LOT) different from hiring a smart adult who's 40 years old and gonna make millions. Apples/Oranges.
