Players react to Rogers suspension

  • There was no definite answer saying he will never be back by Dooley. Maybe through mid season or next season he learns his dang lesson and grows the eff up and back on the team!

  • W won a country over being Presidential after 9/11. This is a real Coaching moment for Dooley and could lead to him winning over not just the team, but the fanbase as well.

WRK, how does it feel to be called out by Zach Rogers? “You’ve just got to be on your toes, 24/7. If some guy goes down, the next guy’s gotta be ready to come up. We’ve got a good group of guys right now that can step up in place of Da’Rick. We’ll get it done, regardless.”

    Y'all be on your toes...blank

Those young WRs actually look up to him a good bit.

We did. Had a great time with everyone at Cabana tonight. Thanks to everyone who showed up. Looking forward to hopefully seeing a few new posters who were in attendance at the event.

Sad day but I'm sure Da'Rick will be more sad when he wakes up and realizes he had the potential to be 1st round and sign a guaranteed contract worth millions.. I mean I know this is still fresh to everyone and we don't know what the end result will be but who would take him early in the draft now with all the off-the-field bs he seems to delve into.. I think we will be ok at wideout but this directly puts more pressure on a)the running game and b)the ever-deteriorating tight ends.

My questions are: 1- Considering Da'ricks unpredictable personality and his lack of commitment shown does he get another chance in BIG Orange if he plays his cards right (ala Honeybadger) or has his ship sailed and we should now openly aim our cannons at his vessel as it departs the Tennessee river? (apollogize if this has already been answered elsewhere) And 2- Anyone agree that the matchup with NC state looks a little tighter with Hunter possibly being shadowed by NC States All-Everything DB David Amerson all night long??

    IMO...

Dooley has always appeared to be a straight shooter, and by suspending and saying something is unlikely he leave the door open for a reconciliation. In the event that Rogers excepts responsibility for his action and takes the appropriate action to correct it, he might be back. I do believe the general mood of this board is that he has shown repeatedly that he will not change. I would hold-off on aiming your cannons at him though. You will probably better be served conserving your ammo for all of the points the Vols put up this year. This offense is still very potent.

For question #2, the passing game may start out slowly. If Z.Rogers, Blanc, or any of the plethora of other WR can make a couple of big catches though, NC ST won't have an option of covering Hunter like that. I look at this as an opportunity for young guys to shine, not going to focus on anyone that doesn't want to be there.

  • Just from interactions I've had with the players in class and around campus and reading their responses to the situation here, I'll go ahead and tell you that Neal and Bray are both very upset by Da'Rick leaving. You've had your head in the sand if you think that the team was expecting this or hoping for this. They're a tightly knit group and there is no doubt in my mind that this is going to affect the way that some of them play. Raijon seems more concerned with figuring out the truth of what happened than planning for NC State and Bray and Da'Rick were inseparable. This is going to poison the waters around the team.

If your accurate, Poisoning the team is a strong statement and I'm not sure I agree

Awful bold prediction there, zfisher! I don't see that happenin' though. These things usually linger around for a day or two, and then its back to business as usual.

  • Team will be much better off without him. He has been a "head case" since joning the vols.
