  • What is up with the Team #117?

    First thought it was the university's 117th team but doing some research, the first UT team was in 1891, which would make this team the 122nd...

    What am I missing?

    Somebody did the math on the board a couple weeks ago. Can't remember specifics, but there were a few years where UT didn't have a team. Probably around war time or something. Pretty sure it added up when you factor that in to it.

  • I know UT did not field a team during WWII. So there's a couple of those years, but Team 117 is a reference to it being the 117th UT team.

    EDIT: Just looked it up...no team in 1894, 1895, 1898, 1917, 1918, and 1943

  • Thanks guys, I mean I figured that is what it meant but the math didnt add up to me...but also didnt see where they didnt field a team in those years! Thanks again guys!
