You've gotta be kidding me. Are you going to the hospital to taunt Lattimore about his injury later, too?

Not celebrating a moral victory. Just saying our kids played their hearts out today and they deserve our appreciation.

    Nice language by the way.

  • I'm not downing our players. Yes they played better than average. But still no win the current team has no hope of winning a big game. Its always something. Its time for a damn change. If I enjoyed watching losing football I'd be a Kentucky fan. But this is straight up bull.

Nice of you to tell other people what to do with their money.

While I don't have that much money, unfortunately, and am not a big money donor myself, I'm very close friends with more than several people with beaucoup bucks, and while there are some differences between those very wealthy people, they are all self-made, and to a person, they would all, I'm certain, have the exact same reaction to that post.

"Are YOU a big money donor? Are YOU going to be coughing up several mill. yourself? If not, who are you to tell me how I spend my money? Oh, you loooove the Vols, do you? Big whoop! If money talks, you ain't got a say."

Yes, it's somewhat arrogant. No; it's not "nice." But I'm just tellin' you, that's the way most self-made multi-millionaires think. It's reality. You don't go to the king with a demand.

Telling them what you demand of them is the best way to ensure it doesn't happen. A much better thing to tell them would be that you "forbid" them to do something or tell them they can't, if you want it to happen. Best psychological approach, apart from that of a serf humbly beseeching the king, is reverse psychology.

    For example:

"Whatever you do, don't throw me in that briar patch!"

"Jim Haslam and Thunder Thornton, I FORBID you to fund a coaching change, you wealthy $%^&s!"

    and

"Oh, please, you incompetent goobers could never get Gruden to sign."

Then again, you could always try what I would: Fawning and obsequious genuflecting and downright begging. bow

I agree with you, you just can't fix stupid. I have always heard the adage that one should be quiet and thought to be stupid instead of opening your mouth and proving it. We have tons of folks on here that keep opening their mouth and proving it.

Obviously Jim haslam doesn't read my post on GoVols247. I didn't personally call him and tell him to go drop 10 million dollars today on a new coach. So stop with trying to sound smart with psychology talk. I'm stating how I feel as I have every right to do that.

Uh, apparently you didn't read what I posted. What did I tell you about your rights to POST? You have every right to POST; I have every right to post an opinion that you're wrong, especially when I backed it up with personal experience.

I'm just telling you, whether I "sound" smart or the world's biggest idiot, that those type people, if approached that way, believe you don't have the right (in THEIR minds the "moral authority") to tell them how to spend their money.

Rather than telling me how offended you are by my supported opinion in response to your opinion, though, here's a suggestion: Find a really wealthy donor and try it. See how it works. No, I'm not kidding or just being a smart aleck; I'm serious. Get me some form of provable documentation from a wealthy donor indicating that you told him/her to "pony up the bucks", and that it had some sort of positive effect on his/her decision to contribute money to a coaching change, and I'll eat enough crow to make John Pinette puke. I promise I'm not allergic to admitting when I've been wrong.

If you're really just blowing off steam after a truly sickening loss, and want Dooley fired, then that's cool. We all get emotional after a game like that, but that's not what you said. What you said came across, at least, as a demand on other people's money. Even if you do have a right to demand it, all I'm saying is THEY ain't gonna see it that way.

Your right he might do that, but that would mean he would have been here for 4 years, we would have been in the top 5 in recruiting, perhaps on probation, but thats another story, and probably not have had the same players. I dont think you would bring anyone in and get the results everybody is expecting when the last 4 losses are to teams who have a total of probably 3 loses on the season combined.
