It would be amazing if the defense was as bad as last year. We all complained about Wilcox's defense but We would have all taken last season. I think the 4-3 has to be better scheme for the players. Only 1 recruiting class should have been recruited for the 3-4 unless Dooley recruiting management was as bad as his game management. I am looking forward to a compitent head coach on the sidelines and looking for much improvement.

Ryan or Wes, I'm not sure if you guys have mentioned this but I thought maggit has always been a linebacker, I've noticed between the dline story and this one he's listed as a DE. When did this come about? I hate to ask a stupid question but this is honestly the first I've heard this. Thanks guys.

Couldn't agree with you more, but as much as Kiffin put us three years back on offense with his reckless changes (and running off players) the same can be said for big Sal. We are short of players who can play, but still we should be 100% better than last year. If we get the right coaching and play within ourselves, we should be able to force a few punts anyway.

That's a lot of bodies. If this staff is as good as Jones billed them, then they should be able to get the most out of them. Really hope Bynum and Harris come back strong from the knee injuries. They would be helpful. Vols!!

I'm excited about the prospect of Sapp and Crump being on the field. I don't think they are upper echelon SEC players, but I believe they can be solid players on defense.

SPEED, SPEED, SPEED...that was one of the obvious missing variables last year, at LB and the backend. Not as much a scheme expert as some of you guys, so help me out here. I know speed is always critical, but is it as critical with the 4-3 vs the 3-4? What about speed @ the DE position to help on the contain? Lastly, how likely is it that the winter S&C program can find another gear & some extra speed with some of these guys that are gonna be @ the OLB positions? Educate me boys...

I think Brewer win's one OLB spot seems to be better suited for LB than Safety, he has good speed for a LB and we need speed at that pos. Hopefully he can be like Raynoch Thompson who was not very heavy but played fast and as most of yall know was very good.
