It’s almost (spring) football time in Tennessee, and govols247 is getting you ready with a position-by-position look the Vols — continuing today with receiver.

  • Wide recievers look to be great for the future. With croom, browles, north, Harris which I think will all be studs, look very bright for the next couple of years. Go vols baby! Hopefully by the end of spring they have someone to throw to them.

  • Azzani has so much raw material to work with. With the cupboard so well-stocked, he should be able to find some playmakers that can run with this new offense. There are just too many great WR athletes here. And by midseason, we should see North and Jenkins in the mix regularly too. Vols!!

  • Excited to see a Croom, North, and Pig/Bowles combo in action.

  • Hi. My name is Gregg. I'm an eternally optimistic, slightly delusional fan. {Hi Gregg} I know we lost two first round talents at WR. I know. And we lost the NFL worthy QB who delivered all the balls to all that talent. But I just can't help being excited about the possibilities of this offense. Like Wes pointed out, the Cupboard is far from bare. We have highly rated talents that have been sitting around waiting for their turn. And because of the number of WRs we have, surely everyone can agree that the competition between the corp is going to be through the roof as everyone believes they have a shot at a starting spot. (Which a little side note, and SIAP, but the Orange, White, and Blue jerseys thing is brilliant. And unveiling that whole thing a couple of days after we beat Kentucky . . . I love what a tongue cheek "f&%$ you" that is to our neighbors to the north.) Paul Harris already has built some lore around his name. He's been there since January. By my estimation, if we weren't so loaded already, North seems like the kind of talent that would push for playing time this fall, which he may anyways. Add a hungry Bowles to the mix and not one, but TWO crafty white kids. On top of that, we're replacing our superstar QB, who honestly didn't win many games for us, with a QB who has been around the college game for two years, was a winner in high school, and was the Gatorade Player of the Year his senior season, which is the fact that everyone loves to forget about Worley. I still remember watching him toss approximately one million TD passes against Jadaveon Clowney's team when they were in HS. And last but not least, I'll end with a question. When is the last time we had this much talent and experience on the O line? I really am, genuinely asking. I can't remember. I think this group will go down as close to one of the best. Oh yeah, and Rajion Neal is going to be trying to play his way into the NFL . . . and we've cleansed our system of all the toxic negative shit that was swirling around the program as Dooley went down like a flaming Zeppelin. Please, Lord, let us have hit bottom. I just don't see how we can go any further down. Cliche alert! I think we're going to surprise some people this year.

  • I really liked Bowles as a recruit. I hope he develops into a great player. He seems like a great kid.

  • New quarterback throwing to a fairly young and inexperienced group of receivers and TE's..expect some growing pains next year.

  • So many possibilities with all these guys. If we can get a mobile quarterback and a halfway decent running game we should be ok on offense.

    Go Vols!
