If we hire another unmitigated disaster of a coach (golden, Petrino, etc), I am going to replace watching the actual football season with watching DVDs of past seasons.
I am not doing another year like this one.

Golden and Petrino have won wherever they have been. Neither are disasters.

^^^ This ^^^. I love how the experts on here have already decided who will be successful and who won't. It bothered me at first but now I just find it funny. I remember when the Falcons hired Mike Smith and everyone howled in protest about how stupid Blank and Dimitroff were. Who is laughing now?

I don't think Golden has. 27-34 at Temple (although he did turn them around to a level of respectability) and 12-11 at Miami.
I don't know if you could say a career record of 39-45 is exactly the picture perfect example of a winner. I would like to see UT pass over him. I don't think he is capable of winning a NC. JMO.
Petrino has a ton of baggage. He can coach though. The question is does UT want to subject themselves to another sideshow act with Petrino like it had with Kiffin. I would think not. Again, JMO.

Miami is 2 years away from winning the ACC.

Driz..as you can tell by my name, I have a team in the ACC I pull for, but winning your division in the ACC is not really something that you can brag about.

Not trying to flame, but this sounds like the same excuse we used for Derrick Dooley for years 1 and 2. And you can't say for sure that next year Golden and the Canes will be really good. Just not quite sold on Golden yet...
