It is very hard to not be beside myself after tonight's gane, I really liked Dooley and very much wanted him to enjoy a long and successful tenure here at Tennessee. During the season, my faith that he could field a quality team began to dissolve. The turning point for me was the Florida game, with tonight being the final straw. What about you guys? When did your support and/or belief in the big guy really start to erode?

Honest question for those of you who were devout supporters: What made you think he was a competent coach? I mean as far as in-game coaching and motivating, did you ever see any evidence? I always liked the guy but he just never struck me as being able to manage a game or a team.
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!

" for the first time this season. After the Troy debacle, I still supported Dooley, but thought he had to win out in order to have any chance at making it to 2013, and knew the "keep Dooley" sentiment was in its final stages. With 40 seconds to play in regulation against Missouri, I finally threw up my hands and joined the "Dump Dooley" crowd. I was listening to the game online because I was at work, and the moment Mizzou kicked the winning FG, I turned off the radio app and said "Goodbye Dooley". That was just the latest (and most costly) case of game mismanagement late in a half, and in that situation under "do or die" conditions, there was no reason to sit on the clock and hope for the best in OT. If Dooley had gambled and lost the game, you could have at least said he went down swinging. But instead we got a coach playing scared instead of playing to win. That's not Tennessee football, and Dooley has to know that as much as anyone else around that program.

Question for us former Dooley fans
