First, thanks to Wes for the update. I'd also like to say thanks for not spewing "non-sense" thoughout the day like other sites did. At one point, I thought to myself, "I'm not going to worry about anything until 247 reports it. If something is really happening, they will report it." So, thanks again.
When I was a younger man, I could see myself telling an assistant teacher/coach/manager bad news (not making it on time) before telling the Head teacher/coach/manager. It's a bit immature, but I can see it. Hopefully, the "kumbaya" tonight will pay dividends and all will be well from here on out. I would love to see ALL of the wideouts on this roster play this season!!!

"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."
That's a helluva update, Wes. Great reporting.
Thanks for the great feed
But i still have a problem with the way Da'Rick acts..... He needs to learn how the real world operates..... If you work in the real world, a lot of employers would not be happy if you show up to work late (even if you have car problems, that is not their problem, you are still expected to be at work ON TIME)..... If Da'Rick could not get back in time, then he probably should have never gone to Calhoun in the first place....
Dooley has every right to be agitated with Da'Rick for this, because Da'Rick's track record is piss poor..... Da'Rick has no right to post what he posted on twitter.... He needs to accept his punishment like a man and keep his mouth shut, instead of creating a media circus...... I'm sure people will disagree with me, but this is how i feel (and that's because I am respectful of others and responsible)......
The problem with Da'Rick is that bad cholces and acting inappropriately has been a re-occuring trend since day one (bar Knoxville)..... HE WILL NEVER LEARN..... I can confidently say that it is only a matter of time before he does something stupid and selfish..... He won't be on the team this fall, but if he does come back this time, it is only a matter of time before he is in trouble again.....
Like it or not, DaRick is a leader on the team but his leadership is not in a positive direction. If he is allowed to continue, others will follow his path.
His commitment to the TEAM is not there...it appears he wants the benefits of being a VOL without the responsibility to the program, to his teammates and to the Vol nation. He is hurting the team with every negative action and statement, and he's bringing the program and the reputation of all those in charge into question. You can see that here on the board.
Forget his upbringing...he has the opportunities to grow and learn how to conduct himself for over two years. He now has the advantages of being a Division 1 football player and is now a YOUNG MAN, with the rights and responsibilities of such. He's living a priviledged life and still taking advantage of it and those around him.
As a long time coach (of kids just like him, in terms of socio-economic backgrounds)myself, I have to say it's time to let him go, wish him well, and spend time coaching the others who want to be here. There are at least another 100 young men who want to prove themselves as players and men of character.
Good post. Although I say give him this one last chance.
Your team. All the time.
