Quick Thursday afternoon note from Wes

  • Rucker Rule is in effect.

The Redhead and I are headed down to Atlanta for a couple of days to check out the Georgia Aquarium and the Sweet SIxteen games and maaaaaaybe some sampling of the local beverages.

I've loaded up the site with stories and will be around the board, so you'll hardly notice I'm gone, but you might want to stay on the site a lot the next couple of days ... because ish always hits the fan when I'm out of Knoxville.

    Go Cubs. Go America.

(FYI: I have a pair of tickets to Sunday's regional final that I'll be looking to sell because I have to come back and do the football press conference. I'll offer them first to govols247 subscribers, but I don't see any way in the world y'all would want to watch Kentucky advance to the Final Four. But maybe you can go and watch them lose, right? Anyway, hit me up. They're regular passes, NOT MEDIA PASSES, and they're in the lower bowl. I might get some drunk Kentucky fan to pay a billion dollars for them, though. biggrin)

  • Skylar McBee will hold a press conference and announce he is foregoing his senior season and entering the NBA draft. That is my Rucker Rule prediction, seems like a lock.

At least what I paid for them, if possible.

Face is $87.50/each for the Elite Eight tickets. I paid $200 for the pair.

My buddy paid much more than that for them but couldn't go, so I got a discount.

As I said, for all I know a drunk Kentucky fan will offer some crazy amount for them. I was offered hundreds for my press pass one year — and I was just walking out of the arena. God bless those guys. They're crazy.

But I'm not looking to make a killing here. If it happens, it happens, but I'm not gonna be a jerk.

    Mostly going for the hoops.

I love the NCAA tournament. Vols aren't it, but by gosh I can go see it, anyway. And The Redhead has never been to an NCAA tourney game, so we're crossing that off the list.

Wes, sober Kentucky fans will be all over you if you don't sell them sooner. It always amazes me how they flow into the ATL and take over the arena and downtown. BTW, the drunks already have their tickets.
