The CheckerBoard

OK, guys, doc just gave me a percocet and two lortabs, so forgive any misspellings or whatever, but I wanted to drop a quick note on here.

The doc said it looks like someone sandpapered my cornea, and that it looks pretty gross. I won't be writing anything tonight and probably not tomorrow, either, because I have to go see an eye specialist sometime tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm supposed to put in eyedrops every 30 minutes, pain medicine every few hours and not get near any bright lights.

I have no idea what's going on, really, but I know the pain got so bad I almost punched the poor doctor.

I know the timing of this really, really sucks, and I apologize for that, but I'll be around the board and do anything I can and be out there as practice as soon as I can. I'm already getting pretty loopy, though, so I might not be able to do much of anything for a couple of days. I don't really know, to be honest. Actually, I have no clue.

I've broken 4-5 bones in my life and had some other painful stuff, but this is about as much pain as I can remember. As long as it's nothing super, super bad, though, they say eyes usually heal pretty quickly, so hopefully this won't keep me away from work for too long.

Thanks for your patience. I haven't had a sick day from work in a long time, so this feels weird, but hopefully it won't be that bad.
