Kid seems really athletic from reading the story... playing volleyball for Pepperdine and being recruited to Ohio State is no joke. Ohio State isn't the best, but playing D1 volleyball is legit. Pepperdine is the real deal.

This TE prospect is intriguing. If nothing else, but for the fact that, as a D1 volleyball player, he is used to going up and getting the ball (albeit a volleyball) at its highest point and attacking it in the air. I would think that this would have to give him some sort of advantage - or at least plan/method of attack when battling LBs and safeties for passes. Tony Gonzalez was a basketball player in college as well and that - form what i hear/read - has kind of helped him in the NFL. It will be interesting to see how this one turns out.

Volleyball players almost always have great verticals. Your point about getting the ball at it's highest point is a good one. I play some beach volleyball, 2 man, and you have to have excellent timing.

CBJ and staff continue to impress me with the new and former recruits who are looking at Tennessee with "excitement". This article gives me a great feeling about our chances with this kid. I would love to see him end up in orange. If he really is SEC and Meredith returns healthy and ready and Downs continues to improve, that would really bolster our group of TE's. I know, lots of "if's" there, but this is a step toward that potential. TE group took a hit last year and with graduation of Rivera. This would be great recovery. Vols!!
