will be a third round draft pick at worst. He runs with so much effort and has speed to kill. I have a great feeling that this staff will feature him a lot in this new offense. I think he could pick up 1200 rushing yards. Lane with 500 in mop up. Anybody else feel this way? I mean our o-line is stupid good. We should have no problem making holes, and Graham will finally be able to put his finishing touches on him with nobody watching over him. Just got a really good feeling.

I feel like Neal will not get drafted and be 2nd string behind Lane this year. I think Neal runs to high, he doesn't break tackles, and his so called "speed to kill" is not exhibited on the field. What was his longest run last year 30 yards? Lane is the more complete back and can actually get YAC. This is the SEC not the Big East, Neal isn't going to just all of a sudden run around guys.

I've always been a Neal fan, but to a certain extent I have to agree with you. I've been disappointed with Neal's inability to break tackles, which makes no sense considering his strength and speed. It must be a balance issue, or what you said, running too high. However, we don't know if the injury did retard his development.
I'm going to stay in his camp for now. I'm just happy we have Lane as well. With only one experienced back, we'd be in a world of hurt considering the lack of experience at both ends of the passing game.

I think Neal has an opportunity to be special this year. He has become a weightroom beast, but if you think about him in HS and as an underclassman, he was more of a speed guy who ran away from people. I think he spent last year getting used to his body/strength, and this year he will be much improved with regards to breaking tackled. I think it is like a guard in basketball that goes through a growth spurt, it takes time to learn to play in the post.
