Rapid Review: MissState 41, Vols 31

  • I spend thousands of dollars every year supporting the Vols with season tickets and parking passes but I have officially put an end to that till this university is ready to move forward and produce what built the big orange nation aka Winning football teams! I'm having a very hard time trying to convince my self that it takes this much time! It's all excuses for this unacceptable coaching staff and incapable athletic dept! Bama did it in one year look at Florida then there is an undefeated Miss st team! We are now compared to the cellar team in the SEC aka Vandy - Kentucky! I'm sure I'm not the only one that is about to stop the buck and when the big donors stop heads will turn! P.s. anybody and everybody on this team that can get any spot on the NFL draft board this year is gone so back to start next year! Just think about it why would they stay? Pride? No I don't think so! I still love my Vols! Go Cuonzo!

Fan Apathy next week with Bama in town will be the death kiss for Dooley

I would wager that the ratio of Bama fans in the stands will be very high this week. I will not watch.

well here we go again hire mullens he only wins with mobile qbs come on guys Dooley needs atleast one more yr and you could see he was frustrated in the press box not being able to be on the sidelines cost him this game and turnovers and defense i'm still gonna support him and the Vols even though i was frustrated firing him now everyone leaves Bray, Hunter, and CP and probably even James and were back to square one

Sometimes you have to blow things up and start from scratch. If hiring the "right" coach means these players leave, then so be it. To keep Dooley for the sake of keeping these player so we can have another .500 year, then that is insanity. Your short term approach does not solve the long term issue.

Fella's, I was at the game last night, and your guys played hard. Here is a Bulldog's observations:

    1. You have an outstanding young offensive line. It is huge and didn't allow a sack. They gave Tyler Bray plenty of time to throw.

    2. Cordelle Patterson and Justin Hunter are both high draft picks. They are just amazing athletes. Patterson needs more touches. However, our two 2 star corners locked them down. They had 2 catches each all night. Give Johnthan Banks and Darius Slay some credit. They are two of the SEC's best cover corners.

    3. I think our defense gave you the run and played against the pass. You ran the ball better against us than anyone this year.

    4. People will gradually find out about Tyler Russell. He has the most accurate arm in the SEC. Yes, he missed on a few throws, but not many.

    5. Dan Mullen isn't going anywhere. His wife, Megan, loves it in Starkville. Her favorite golf course in America is Old Waverly just 20 miles from campus, where the Ladies PGA was hosted when she was the Golf Channel's Ladies Golf Anchor. Dan also loves it, and he has unfinished business here. He is a spread offense coach and an outstanding QB coach, but he believes in a power running. If Rajion Neal had honored his commitment to Mississippi State, and not signed with UT, he would be starting, not Ladarious Perkins.

    6. Dooley is a smart coach, but Lane Kiffin left him a mess. Dooley is righting the ship, give him time. Your team will win some tough games this year.

    7. Your fans were very nice. Our tailgate neighbor was Gary Larkins and his wife from Dickson, TN. They were terrific people. Tennessee is a credit to the SEC.

Good luck in the rest of your games.
