Ryan, what is your gut feeling on Ford and the qb (Dobbs I think his name is)? I listened to a sirrus radio show and the host said he felt these were the two big fish UT needed to land. Thanks Ryans and Vol fans, please pray for my family and I as my mother just passed away. Thanks

very sorry for your familys loss. prayers sent out.

Tennessee still is a strong contender for a number of prospects who have yet to announce their final decisions. Where do things stand with the Vols' remaining targets?

V Bees Bell, Bellamy, Boyd, Brown then add Dobbs and Miller.. My guess, Boyd iffy because of Mom.

  • What's up VolNation!! I'm from Bucknuts (the Ohio St. site) but was a student at Univ Tenn is early 2000's. I ended up partying my way out of Tennessee and now I'm a pastor, oddly enough, in Columbus, OH. Needless to say, I'm still a Vol at heart and really hoping they turn it around in the years to come. Don't tell my Buckeye brothers but I'm pulling for Bell to choose Tennessee. It's good for him to stick to his roots and take the challenge of leading a premier program back on top rather than just being a part of the Urban Meyer machine. Ohio State is going to dominate the Big Ten (not hard to do these days) and will compete for championships in the coming years regardless of whether Bell comes or not.

    A few other thoughts:
    - Butch Jones was an incredible hire. I'm from Cincinnati and he was respected there more than Brian Kelly. He's not a flashy coach but is really solid - loved by his players and high school coaches.
    - Nothing annoys me more than the stupid Roll Tide chant. I still remember their obnoxious asses (yes I'm a pastor and said ass) coming to Knoxville with their stupid toilet bowel chant. I can't want to see Ohio State or Tennessee flush 'em.

Welcome to our site! Couple of things....

    1. I like the Butch Jones hire as well. He has a winning pedigree, and I think that will translate here as well.
    2. The word "ass" is in the Bible (at least it is in my KJV Bible), so you're good. biggrin

  • Worth nothing from the Ole Miss Final Commitment Projections- Both Hamilton and Schurbut project Dobbs to pick UT.

Prospect- Joshua Dobbs, QB, Alpharetta (Ga.)
    Announcement- 9:10 a.m. Wednesday
Quick Take- Dobbs has been committed to Arizona State since June of 2012, but a Jan. 25 official visit to Tennessee has left his decision in doubt.
    Projection- Tennessee

They also go on to say they predict Bell to Tennessee and Ford to Auburn. Kind of interesting to see what other 247 Analysts are posting.

  • Moved around quite a bit. I've lived in Milford, Fairfield and went to High School in Wilmington (a rural town 45 minutes out). My family also lived in Hendersonville, TN when I was in elementary school.

  • since when has vonn bell had UT listed as a favorite on his 247 profile? is that just due to speculation or did i miss a statement??

  • I'm in meetings today and tomorrow in a building named "Cannon". Surely that is a good sign for preparing the cannons.

I hope that is the case. I would feel better if he would have advised Arizona State if he had planned to de-commit by now. He is their only QB committ and has been committed for a long time. It seems rare that QBs de-commit this late in the process (exception Simms, Chris). There are so many pros to him selecting UT but I wonder if his honoring his long-standing commitment may keep him at Ariz St.

  • Regarding Bellamy- Georgia has 6 LB commits and he would be 7. That seems like an exceptionally high number. Also - with only a couple of spots left in their class - any insight on where Bellamy sits on their board?

Milford not far from Sycamore. Had a buddy who moved there and used to tell people he lived in East Indian Hill. shrug
