I tried to play once a week when the weather was good during my years in Chattanooga.

I never have time anymore. All but one of my clubs is collecting dust. I occasionally drink a beer or two and hit pitching wedges into the big field behind my backyard.

I figured you guys didn't have enough time to play often.

Ever played The Honors Course down there? It's consistently ranked as one of Tennessee's best golf courses.

Random thought, and it may not be possible, but a golf scramble might be a great way for subcribers and mods/journalists to meet.

The Honors Course is a very, very good course down here. Black Creek CC in Lookout Valley is also very good, they host a Nationwide tournament every October. I volunteered there a few years ago, and got the chance to meet several very good players, a couple of whom are on the PGA Tour now. I believe Tiger played The Honors Course a long time ago when he was at Stanford. They hosted the NCAA championships there one year. I believe Tiger still holds the course record there, IIRC.

Is your home state WVA? I remember some Callahans?

No, I'm from Middle Tennessee. Don't have any family in West Virginia either.

If I sign up for a yearly subscription will you please take Pendleton back to the Cardinals?

I actually though he'd be considered for the Cardinals' managerial opening this offseason. I really don't think he is a bad coach.

ryan you are getting swamped here lol...we beat kentucky and have a 7 game season, does dooley keep his job?which i hope he does.

The scenario you described would be a nightmare for Tennessee, but I think 7-5 and a bowl win probably is enough to assure Dooley of a fourth year.

I was wondering about Ryan's rhubarb and rhododendron farm being trampled by rhinoceroses, exacerbating his rheumatism so badly a Rhodes scholar couldn't fix it.

I don't see a question here for me to answer, but I admire the alliteration.

When you have time what kinds of movies/tv shows do you like?

Like Wes, my all-time favorite TV show is The Wire. I also like Lost, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Family Guy, Breaking Bad, Fringe, South Park and Weeds.

In terms of movies, I like everything from Million Dollar Baby, Shawshank Redemption and American Beauty to ridiculous comedies like Step Brothers, Borat and Team America. And I'm a sucker for thrillers, especially those with a lot of mystery involved, such as The Game.

Yes! I told you we had questions!

    Question 1 (from me):

Ryan, how many times have you gotten kicked out a bar for peeing in a sink?

None - so far. But like I said, we can't all be like Wes.

  • Is the team speed at corner *that* bad? Can you rank our scholly corners based on your perception of their speed?

Phil Steele has Eric Gordon ranked fairly high. How does he see the field more?

As much as you guys work, I'm sure it's rarely possible, but do you, wes or kevin play golf? If so, where are your favorite courses in knoxville and how is your game?

I actually grew up playing and played on my high school team for a couple years, but I haven't played in a few years now. I somehow lost my swing and became terrible starting around my senior year of high school. One of the last times I played, I almost hit someone in our foursome. I took that as a sign that I either needed to take lessons or quit for a few years.

Would you rather take an at bat with Aroldis Chapman pitching, or do an Oklahoma Drill against James Harrison? And do you hate Clay Travis as much as the rest of us?

I actually think I'd rather take the hit from Harrison. When I played baseball, I got affected everytime someone threw inside. There is a reason I was never very good.

As for Travis, I've never had a problem with him.

Been to The Honors. Never played it. It's beautiful.

I'd love to look into some kind of scramble.

I wouldn't say it's that bad, but there aren't really any true burners. Gordon definitely is among the fastest, along with newcomer Daniel Gray. Beyond that, I think everyone there is fairly interchangeable in terms of speed. I'm not sure where Deion Bonner may rank.

Gordon has carved out a nice role for himself at nickelback. I don't think he's likely to play much at the outside corner spots in this system.

We don't have an office in Knoxville. Both of us work from home when we're not on campus or traveling.

Right now, I think it's just winning games. When Tennessee is winning games, there's not much the program is lacking that's necessary to bring in good players.
