Rogers 'sorry' for distraction

All-SEC wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers said his most recent off-the-field mishap as a Tennessee Volunteer was “no controversy.” But he’s sorry nonetheless.

  • Wow! Look at the beard on the guy with the green jersey...

Now, I'll go read the article.biggrin

Good piece, Wes! The comments from Justin and Prentiss say alot about how much these guys think about each other, and their importance to the team. I hope they continue to look after each other, and continue to minimize these types of "mistakes".

  • If we have any kind of run game this year. We could very easily have a top 5 offense.vols

  • The best thing about this article was Hunter stepping up and giving Da'Rick that "talking to" that he needed. Big of Rogers to own up to his issues, even if he may be one of the worst quotes ever, haha. I hope he can back it up. Sounds like everything is hunky dorey.

    For now.

    Good reporting, Wes.

  • I'd say that was the most maturity Da'Rick has displayed thus far. A little teammate intervention may go a long way to him growing up. I'm hoping for the best for Da'Rick and all the Vols. This could be an outstanding offense to watch this year and we got more coming in the summer. Great info Wes, as always. You are the MAN! GO VOLS!

BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!

  • I hope Da'Rick loves Tennessee with all his heart this time next year, foregoing the NFL Draft and preparing for his senior season.

I hope he still loves Tennessee after a year of destroying SEC DB's, helping the team win 10 games, and becoming an obvious 1st round draft pick in the NFL!

  • I can't say I have ever heard DaRick sound even remotely humble but there is a hint of it here. We can only hope that he maintains this attitude as much as possible moving forward. As Dooley said, 'he's going to make mistakes', the question moving forward is how bad will they be? HOPE...HOPE...HOPE!

  • Sounds like Bray & Hunter may have stepped up with the leadership from teammates that has been lacking. Leadership from your peers, especially the ones you trust, can go a lot farther than leadership from coaches.

  • Now I feel guilty about an earlier post in which I moved toward the Da'Rick needs to go camp. That was so not me because I want both Hunter and Da'Rick out there driving opposition D coordinators to distraction. I love our offense, even before we get the running game going.

  • Da'Rick has acquired a reputation as having disregard for his team and being a part of such. It will take a lot of effort on his part to reverse this perception. I sincerely hope that he is serious about his coming of age. I don't want to see our team self-destruct this year as last year.

I still stand strong to my stance that if Da'Rick has future episodes as last year, then he should be benched until he understands team concepts.

  • Does DaRick not know that having all these off the field issues could hurt his nfl money? Big picture bro, keep your goals in reach.

  • "Chemistry" . . . "coming together" . . . "family" . . . "moving forward".

I am really liking the tone of this spring practice!

  • I'm glad to hear that Da'Rick got the off-the-field problems resolved. I hope he turns over a new leaf and keeps it turned. We can definitely use his help on the offense.

I really wish he'd consistently avoid disciplinary actions. That's what the team needs, and it could only help him with the UT fan base -- and with the pros.

  • I hope this was a lesson learned. Work hard, help win some games in the Fall and everyone will love this guy if he stays out of trouble.

Some guys never figure that out until they drop below the guaranteed money.
