Describe what I sounds like? If its a 12 year old, yep that's him.

  • Nice. Just wondering. Never heard his voice before and whoever it is really likes the Gators this weekend for sure. Hoping he is out and someone is filling in for him on the show today, hahaha!

Rucker has been consistent in saying he won't pick TN until they beat UF.

I kind of agree with Wes. Im sitting here thinking about the game, and I just can't see us winning since we haven't in so long. I am optimistic, however, we never play well against Florida. But I want to win SOOOO bad.

I enjoy the show. Much better than mid-day/afternoon radio here in Nashville for sure. Love the app and plan to use it daily now when in the office!

  • Tell me what station to find on TuneIn radio or what app to get for the station so I can hear something good about the Vols down here in MS

  • I actually felt better about the game until I listened to hour 1 of S and R. At this point I feel like we're just the TN of years past and there's no real reason to hope. Not trying to atack Wes, that is just how it came across. I don't have the backstage access that you do Wes, but I would ask you how the team attitude compares to years past?

    I think four things:

    1) Tennessee has to get over the mental block that plagues the Vols against Florida. Every year is its own year, and it stands on its own, but I've read this book before.

    2) Tennessee has not beaten a team this good in three years. It will happen at some point, obviously, but I remain skeptical until I see it.

    3) Tennessee has to improve in several tangible ways that are required to win SEC games. The Vols have to run more consistently, and they have to improve in short-yardage, and they have to tighten up on the back end. Florida will score more than N.C. State and Georgia State if the Vols continue to struggle in the first quarter.

    4) Florida is a better team than some people are suggesting. It's not a traditional Florida team with a bunch of big-play jitterbugs that scare the heck out of you, but it can do a lot of the same stuff that good Tennessee teams did — run, stop the run and score on defense/special teams. And Caleb Sturgis is a heck of a kicker who could be the difference in a close game.

NOTE: I would not in any way be surprised if Tennessee wins. UT has several advantages over the Gators, too. But I think too many people are ignoring some issues that could cost the Vols this game.

    JMO. Go Cubs. Go America.

IMO there a "air of confidence" around these guys that u can sense in watching them workout and listening to them during practice. This is a different team IMO in the way they practice and "carry themselves".
And yes I was at practice (try and make a couple of practices every year especially 3rd Sat. In Oct.)..
I'm not Wes but I am.... Well let's just say I did run thru the T a long time ago for 4 seasons..

I agree with all 4 of your points. Florida has a ton of weaknesses as well.

    1. QB Play
    2. No go to WR
    3. O-line is average, suspect against the pass
    4. Average DE's

I went into the GA Dome an hour early and saw both Brodus and Palardy kick multiple FG's. Palardy had the better leg, but Brodus kicks a much much higher ball. It's about time they made the change...

I've been going back and forth on this, and I'm leaning towards scrapping the run game until we need it, or Florida consistently plays nickel. I don't think we can afford to screw around and "see" if we can run the ball. We need to push the ball down the field early, get a lead, and make Florida 1 dimensional.

All very valid points Mr. Rucker. I could see it going either way. I think we're looking at a 28-24, 31-20 type of game.

The O-line can run block, Mike Gillislee is leading the SEC in rushing. The reason they haven't been as solid in pass blocking could be attributed to their young QB holding onto the football too long.
