I don't understand this at all. Something is not right here IMO. Why would Jay just up and leave with out a statement of some kind,it just don't make sense. Has this been in the works all a long till recruiting was over or was there a disagreement of some kind and things went bad? Recruits are not going to like this and you can't blame them. They are wondering right now why nobody wants to be at UT. Head coaches turned us down, whether we had a chance of getting them or not recruits look at it as being turned down] players that looked like they may give us a shot, again turned us down. As far as coach Grahm goes,i'm wondering if this is one of those deals where,if you can't say something good then don't say nothing at all. I know we have a while to work on our recruits but things like this stick in a 5 star recruits mind, especially when you've got every coach in the country reminding them 100 times a day. When one of your own won't come home and one of your own won't stay,it just seems to me it can't do nothing but hurt.
VFL!!! GO BIG ORANGE!!!
GO BIG ORANGE!!!
1st of all- I'm in Tahoe skiing. Yet this topic has my family pulling out their phones to get updates while on the lifts. So much for getting away!
2nd- Wes, thanks for not skirting around the race issue and addressing it in a very diplomatic way. This is why I pay for this site.
3rd- Jay took a huge leap of faith by joining this staff when seemingly every other coach was jumping ship. He left a great job at USCe for one with many, many more questions. I know Jay personally and he bleeds orange more than most on this board. His leaving hurts. Very much. But the coaching profession is just that. It's a profession. Don't vilify him. He does not deserve it.
4th - We lost arguably our best recruiter in addition to a great RB coach. Jay is a rising star in the recruiting world with key ties to the Carolina's. The current staff is united (and that's good) but we already lacked SEC recruiters and are now without one of the best. Taylor, Trooper. Done.
