I think we're in perfect position to take a chance on him. We have some good QBs already and if he does need to red shirt then so be it. I hope we can get a good dual threat. I love having that extra ability in a QB to make the D play honest.

My guess is that he's just had such a late start at QB that noone was ready to pull the trigger on him (or even knew about him) when they were getting their big-time QB commits. QB's settle the pecking order pretty early compared to all other positions and there just aren't many spots left at major schools. These schools are probably a bit reluctant to take a commit from a second QB - that doesn't generally end too well.

That said, I can see us offering. With our new staff certainly not shying away from a dual threat QB like the last staff might've, I could see then taking a shot with him. Seems to have a ton of upside. If he can go from not playing the position to winning the Elite 11 in a year or so, what can he do in 2 or 3 more?
