The CheckerBoard

This may have been discussed, but I missed it if so. It seems clear this class won't come close to filling the 25 (or so?) scholarship/signing limit, so why go with preferred walk-ons with so many open slots? Why not just give these guys a scholarship? Does it mean we can over-sign a ton next year?

I'm no expert on this recruiting stuff; slots, scholarships, over-signings, etc., so if I used incorrect terminology, please excuse my ignorance and feel free to educate me.
