Not Ryan but...FWIW, Dave Hooker of ESPN.com certainly thinks so. I think the new coach will play a big role in answering that question when it is all said and done.
Much like Tennessee's play on the field this season, the Vols' recruiting can seemingly only improve without Derek Dooley at the helm.
Dooley couldn't get the best players in the country here, Tennessee has so much to offer and he was holding it back. So excited for the future here. Best I've felt about this program since Jordan Reed was running down the sideline untouched in September.
I'm not claiming Dooley was able to recruit on the level of Saban, Muschamp or even Richt, but let's not overlook some pretty awesome signings for which he was responsible: Hunter, Rogers, Patterson, Johnson, Maggitt.
Dooley was an excellent recruiter. The uncertainty regarding his future hurt his efforts this year and last, but he hauled in some excellent players. He just didn't succeed with that talent.
There is no doubt in my mind that our recruiting class will improve.
