Offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian said he's excited to take his offensive system to the always-stout SEC, and he told govols247 why he thinks it'll work at Tennessee.

  • Great article! Looks like we are set up for a QB battle going into Spring. Personally I look for Peterman to win the job. He's more mobile with the bigger arm. Fits well with this system

  • Worrly can actually move very well... not as good as peterman , but he is still a mobile qb.i believe worrly ran a 4.7 at a camp as a hs senior if i remember the film i watched from that camp. thats not very shabby for a qb. worrly is very accurate and played in a timing based uptemp spread in hs i think this will be an interesting qb battle.

If they decide to move more towards a true spread, then Peterman has the early advantage heading into spring camp due to his mobility. However, if they truly emphasize the "pro style" aspects of the offense over any spread elements, then Worley might have the advantage just based on time in the program and his credentials as a passer..

I agree thats why I think it will be interesting to watch unfold! Worrly is not entirely a true pocket only statue of a qb either though. I know Peterman runs an amazing 4.5 in the 40 though and i have heard Peterman has a canon of an arm as well

  • The thing I like about both of these QB's is the fact neither seemed to be "head cases". I feel whoever starts will come to play their best each and every snap when given that opportunity. I spent a lot of time this year wondering what QB was going to show up on game day. Whoever starts at QB must be a team leader.

When Worley played a half season his freshman year when Bray was hurt, he showed very little mobility. He essentially was Bray without the cannon.

  • agree to disagree. he was a true freshman then he didnt know the playbook and was rightfully scared of screwing up! when they bench bray this year at the end of the year worrly came in ran for a first down and led us on a pretty good drive with very accurate throws. bray was throwing 55 on the radar gun worrly was throwing 50 and is 2years younger than bray

We normally agree Rocky but I don't think that half season is an indicator of his mobility. I am not saying he is Fran Tarkington but the coaches had him on a short leash as far as improvising and he resembled a Dear in the Headlights more than a QB. The other thing is, while he does not have a "cannon" for an arm he has better arm strength and is very accurate. As already stated, this is going to be interesting and a good 'problem' to have.

Stooks you hit Worley on the head and I don't think he will be ready to take his ball and go home. He also has game experience having played and started a few games in 2011 and played in a few games this past year. I also think he will fit this new system better that he did Chaney's system. I think they will push each other in which will make both QB's better and that's what its all about.

    GO VOLS !!!!

4me, totally agree with this. A lot of people are excited about Peterman--including myself, but that is because we tend to put a lot of faith in potential. We have never seen him play.

Worley was the Gatorade National Player of the Year! He has been in the system and played lots of minutes. No matter who starts, these two will push each other.

I think that's why they possibly want two QB's this class with the possibility of Worley transferring. From what I saw in spring practice last year, Peterman is the real deal and his measurable's are better than Worley's. Worley has a terrific future and I'm not discounting him just yet. But it is definitely going to be a battle this spring and I can't wait to be on the field to watch it some.

    Source?

I read and listen to almost everything Vols football and this is the only mention I have seen of a possible Worley transfer.

I want to know if this is keyboard speculation or credible conveyance.

I understand that anything 50 and over is considered NFL caliber. Can someone verify?
