Thanks for the info. If Gundy's Arkansas preference means that we get Strong, I hope it is true.

I would rather have Strong or Fedora instead of getting into a bidding war with Arky over Gundy. I don't think we should break the bank with a head coach when there is not that much separation between the 3 - save some $$$ for a high quality staff.

Why has Dabo Swinney at Clemson not been a consideration? SEC experience, head coach experience, great recruiter in the Southeast.

I AM ALL IN FOR CHARLIE STRONG!!
I asked a question on another article, but did not see a reply from you. I would really like to hear your opinion.
I keep hearing that the job at U.T. is currently much better (or at least some better) than it was three years ago. Based on the interest of high level coaches, that seems to be the case. And, if it is better, than I guess we have to credit Dooley for that to some degree. However, Kevin can you offer 2-3 details as to why it is better now than it was 3 years ago? I think I know some of the reasons, but I would like to hear them from someone "connected" like yourself.

Awesom stuff Kevin. I think we're in great shape when looking at the list of candidates and I will be happy with the top 3-4. But I want Strong. He's the only defensive minded coach we are seriously after and he's been wildly successful on that side of the ball in his career. But maybe the most important aspect of Strong is all of the reports and rumors that hiring him would be very beneficial to our recruiting. I've said it before and I'll say it again, 9 times out of 10 the team with the best players on the field will win the game. All coaches have to do if they have the talent is not screw it up (see Les Miles, not the best coach, but has great talent, a great staff and doesn't get in the way). I also think Strong would accept and embrace our traditions more than any other candidate and would "appreciate" the opportunity more than others. Hart, please hire this man.

Charlie Strong (or Chuck Muscles as some have called him) is a slam-dunk. I don't think Gundy is as good a coach or recruiter as Strong. I think he is the guy to lead us back to prominence where i believe Gundy would just lead us to middle of the pack (just where he is in the big 12). And Strong wants to be here, and that means a lot. Really am excited about the direction of UT football again if he is the hire!

I would be interested in knowing this as well. I think he is the best choice, but do not know what the deal is with the NCAA stuff from UNC other than reporting that he has supposedly been cleared by the NCAA of any major wrongdoing. IF that is the case, he should be in the top three.

I'm sorry but strong is better than fedora in my opinion he will put us in the top 5 in the nation in recruiting next year but this year all the big time recruits would come I promise you that I talk to jalen reeves Maybin he is a family friend and strong is a great defensive mind and hart knows that's what it takes to win in the sec !
