I'm just curious what kind of fans we have here. I'd like to hear how Wes, Ryan, and Kevin feel as well. I know a lot of Vol fans, especially older ones that absolutely hate Bama and Florida. These people would prefer they never win a game. My father is one of those. I've heard him go so far as to say that if Alabama is playing Russia, I'm pulling for Russia!
I just dont feel that way. I mean dont get me wrong, I hate the Gators and Tide as much as the next person, but they're still my 11th and 12th favorite teams(sorry, not able to fully accept A&M and Mizzou until they've taken their lumps for a few years). I always pull for an sec team when they play out of conference. Something inside me kinda snaps when I see some California team or Northern team beat a Southern team.

The reason this was on my mind is I just saw the highlights of Clemson beating Auburn. Just ranting a bit I guess

I'm the exact same way. It's all about pride in our conference. I mean it makes us look better when we beat them later on

I normally pull for the SEC, but I'm starting to change my mind. The trolls from Florida and Bama are getting old and I work with a guy that went to Auburn. The whole game last night he was trying to get under my skin (even admitting to it), saying NCSU was awful and the ACC had awful Quarterbacks. I wanted to remind him tonight that Clemson lost to NCSU last season badly, and that they are in the ACC, and that one of those awful ACC Quarterbacks beat Auburn tonight, but I didn't and I kept it classy.

For me, it is all about where we are in the conference. If we are at the top, I am a huge sec fan. If we are not ( like now), I want others to lose. We will never caych Bama in recruiting if they win the NC every other year.

It's all situational for me. Bama Vs Michigan... yeah I want Bama to win because I really dislike both so it comes down to SEC pride. On the other hand, just say Bama were playing Northwestern, I have no grudge against NW so I would want Bama to lose because I can't stand them. I know this is probably pretty weird to most, but its just my opinion.

It may not mean a whole lot but I was pulling for you guys for the same reason against NC St., as a Bama guy. We as a conference have been so strong as of late that these other piss-ant conferences just love beating an SEC team. To me it's like y'all are my brothers, I can be mean to y'all, but no one else better be. Just my thoughts, I'd like to see yours but when y'all mark it as VIP I can't. Congrats on NC St. See you y'all in Oct.

I'm only 27 but yes I lived through those years. Does it make me smile when AU loses? Hell yes. Would I like it if they got drummed by, let's say OSU? Not at all. I felt like there may be some resistance to my response and that's fine. But in a day where we've been so damn dominant that other conferences despise us as a whole, yep I'm pulling for the Vols against anybody outside of the SEC.
