I really like this kid. As you said, he does not have a bad arm and I will take accuracy and an understanding of the game over a 'howitzer' and limited understanding. Thanks and +1

  • I agree with you tnbear. I also think having CP as a wr will help Worley if they get the chance to play together. Maybe they can get back in rythem with each other since they used to be teammates.

  • more cerebral than Peyton Manning ? That's a pretty tall order and one heck of a compliment.

  • lets say bray go's pro after this season and worley gets the position do you think we'll have to worry about peterman leaving?

Not yet. If Worley tears it up and Peterman has no chance of jumping him maybe. (See McCarronn and Philip Simms) But if it's a close battle Peterman will likely stick it out.

Pretty sure Wes didn't say Worley was more cerebral than Manning, just that he was perhaps the most cerebral QB we have right now. Still a good compliment.

Best case scenario is Peterman redshirts but whether he does or not he doesn't seem to be the type to jump ship. I will say that with Ferguson coming on board it is going to get vellly intelesting.

I'm going to get downvoted for this...

But it is unfortunate in my opinion that Worley's dedication to studying the game hasn't been matched by Tyler. This isn't to say that a lot of programs don't have a QB2 that is outworking QB1 in the film room, but I think the hope is that your QB1 isn't letting anyone outwork him.

Not gonna down vote you bavw I get what your saying, but sometimes you have to do everything you can to gain an edge on your opponent if your not quite as talented. Not saying Worley's not talented I think he will be a very good QB for us I see him as a Manning type not the strongest arm but strong enough with enough knowledge of what your doing and what the defense is doing to overcome it. Bray on the other hand is more of a Rogers slash Favre type, oh I see your open zip, you can be succesfull either way.

  • I really like Justin - his attitude, approach, and preparation. Last year was a just a disaster for so many, it's not indicative of what's to come. While Tyler may be the starter and better equipped to handle the offense day 1, Worley should be pushing him hard from the get go. That only makes everyone better.

I respectfully disagree with you on this.

I am not Favre's biggest fan, but I remember reading reports from players on the VIkings who were shocked by how much film he studied. Film study is just part of the equation for being a great QB, and as defenses keep getting more complicated it keeps becoming more important. If you wan't to really be great and be a leader, I think you have to do the small things right and outwork people. Every report on Lathers mentions players coming to his house to watch film or learn the scheme, I think it is important for the O that people are coming to Bray and not Worley.

This is not to take anything from Worley, I hope he keeps working hard and think he can be a great starter here.

I agree you do need to watch film and Bray from what I gather has done a really good job of that since the end of last season and has become a more dedicated and vocal leader of this team. I don't think Wes was saying the other QB's didn't watch much film but that Worley was really smart and studied the game very hard. The article was about him.cheers
