Seniors on Offensive and Defensive Fronts...

  • Teams that have seniors on the O-line and D-line don't lose often. It will be the strength of our offense and defense. We won't get pushed around ever next year. Teams won't be running down our throat at will...

Only question I have on the D-line is can Sentimore be a "smart" enough player to play DE in a 4-3. He is a reckless undisciplined player. He will have to think a lot more at DE, read the QB, and set the edge, something I'm not sure he can do, but am anxious to see in spring.

If we can pick up our defensive system, play conservative with good fundamentals we could win 8 games. I am a little more optimistic because we have proven we can run the ball and we will be able to stop the run... Really need Randolph and Maggit back to but that goes without saying. Can't wait for spring ball.

  • Most of our DEs seem like tweeners for the 4-3 scheme. It kind of worries me, but then again it can't be worse than what happened this past year... Randolph getting back to 100 percent is a real key for the secondary. With Waggner gone, he's probably the only leader back there. Hopefully he picks up the new defensive scheme as fast as he did the last one...

  • JMO Sentimore will be a DT more than often in a 4-3 and Walls and Miller will be our SDEs. Maybe Sentimore slides out on goaline/ short yardage plays.

WDE will still be Smith and J. Williams and prob on passing downs Maggitt will slide there.

Interesting.... I always forget about Walls. Remember when Lane Kiffin brought in 2 top 10 DE's in Corey Miller and Jacques Smith! Yea didn't work out to well for us...

I think Sentimore, Couch, and McCullers are by far and away our best D-lineman, think they will be out there a lot together.

  • We will see..........290+ lb SDE is just not found much but something to watch for

No I hear you. Dominique Easley is 280 but he's also a freak athlete. It's not ideal, but the alternatives are just so bad. Gun to your head who starts at SS assuming Randolph is healthy.

  • Yeah it's kind of hard to see where Sentimore will be playing. I think he'll be our DE in our base, but move inside on the sub packages. He has too good a motor to keep off the field. Between Smith, Walls, Miller, Lewis, and possibly Maggit, I think we'll be fine at end. You gotta believe at least one of those guys can be good enough to start for us there.

  • I think McNeil and Moore share the SS spot. Moore is slow, but he did make some really good plays for us at times.

  • Offensively we will have the best offensive line in the conference, maybe even the nation. This is exactly why the 4-3 will serve much better for us IMO. Smith was completely out of his comfort zone in the position switch and he will be a great player back at that DE position. I think our defensive line as a whole is a very strong unit, especially if Big Dan comes back.
