Souds like he did not buy into the process while at Bama!!

  • I ain't going to lie to you, I think we're doing ok without him. Yeah you could say that

  • I hate to see he has so much dislike towards saban. I guess that still shows signs of his maturity. Blaming other people for his failures and not taking the responsibility. As far as Saban not saying hi to him in the halls, get over it. He has over 85 people on that team. If he stopped and talked to them everytime he see's one he wouldn't get anything done in a day. That's how college is. You might see your professor in the hall but don't get butt hurt if he happens to walk by without saying anything. He's got stuff he has to do.

  • Tone down the hate Bama guys. He didn't fit in and Saban got rid of him. It's worked for everyone. But anything he can use for motivation, I'm fine with. And I'm sure this will be all over the locker room in bammer this week too.

  • Sounds like some Bama fans are still sore that this guy didn't want to be there. Good article Ryan. In time, hopefully Sentimore will learn his time at Bama should not be a regret, but rather a learning experience. No one can deny that Saban is a heck of a coach, but he is not every players cup of tea. Saturday should be a good game and hopefully this one becomes Darrington's coming out party.

  • IMO, a coach should at least acknowledge you by raising a hand, winking or saying hello. That does not take a lot of time from ones schedule getting in the red Ford pickup and heading to the lake. Unlike professors, the coaches recruited the players, visiting their families, telling them they would take care of them like family and all the BS recruiters put out. A hello could be justified especially with all the $ the University put out to get the kid there. Like Coach Saban, you know what I am saying, I ain't going to lie to you.

Biggest waste of talent in a long time. Thanks Coach Peyton.....

  • We are glad to have him here.

  • Unlike professors Saban let's players who don't travel home for thanksgiving have it with him and his family. Saban does a ton for his players. I hope the vols coaches are giving this kid a hug everytime they see him cause he seems needy. and he seems the one who's sore about leaving bama. I don't think the #1 defense in the nation is too upset about having to kick him out.

I'm sure Saban speaks to most of his players when he sees them outside of the facilities.
Sounded like Sentimore just didn't care for his personality. Lets be honest, Saban isn't exactly what I would call a charmer. But that's why there's a recruiting process. Players like some coaches, and dislike others. That's life.

  • In response to the last post, and I ain't going to lie to you, but if it didn't sound weird, I would say Saban can be a charmer. That felt really weird to type. There is a reason he can come into homes and sweep the parents off their feet. But you dont need to "charm" young men as a coach. I agree with you, Bama is a change for many players coming in. It is extremely structured, and those who are incapable of adapting, just aren't going to cut it. But, it's rare when they don't because of the group dynamic. They want to fit in and buy into the competitiveness, which in turn yeilds player development. He was given help and opportunities. Best of luck to he and the Vols.

Maybe that's why he left Bama and came to Knoxville, to improve on that reading level. biggrin

  • I am personally shocked that Bama fans are trolling an article about a player from any team. Not because I think they have class, the facts they can read and use the internet are shocking.

  • If you don't care that he is here why are you coming over here and talking smack well Maybe because y'all always like to start stuff stay on your own board

Probably because he is calling out the coach that gave him MULTIPLE chances to turn his attitude and life around. He needs to stop crying and play the game.He is actually very fortunate that he was given a shot to play at UT. Saban actually helped him get there and now he is playing D1 football in the best league in the nation. I am not here to make beef with anyone but if one of your players transfered to Bama and then started calling our Dooley,Fulmer or whoever the coach is or was you would defend him too when you know the truth.

I can't speak for for every Vol fan, but I never questioned Aaron Douglas' abilities or motivation when he left UT and later signed to play for Bama. God rest his soul, he was a college player that didn't like the situation he was in Knoxville and sought to better himself elsewhere. Wish he had had the opportunity. Much the same way that Vol fans aren't trolling the Tennessee Tech boards to discredit Da'Rick Rogers. He had his shot and now he is elsewhere. Best of luck to him and hopefully he gets it right with his current opportunity.
