Serious question on Strong....

Please be civil with this guys, legitimate question and sensitive subject.
Would the University of Tennessee hire a black football coach? My stance is I don't care if you are red, white, black, blue, or orange(although I might favor that!) as long as you can coach. I think it is time for Tennessee to break down that barrier if Strong is truly the best possible candidate.

Color doesn't matter to me either but for some reason I honestly think that it would turn ugly real quick if he didn't win and win quick. I think he is to good of a person to go through that ordeal JMO

We hired Wade Houston many years ago so I don't think it's a problem.

of course they would. I am still struggling to get my head around his recruiting ability as a head coach. In game coaching has a few question marks too. No coach is going to be perfect and at this point since we have movied onto the second tier of candidates all will have skills that are lacking in certain areas. If it is strong then ok. not my next choice after gruden.

I don't think it will get any uglier than it did with Bill Battle. Color will have little to do with it when stupid fans are involved.

WE did didn't we he coached til his son Allan graduated then left, I forgot about that those years in basketball 1990 til 99 I try to repress in my memory lol, but your correct thanks for reminding me

Color doesnt matter to me I have said from the start that strong would be 2nd on my list now that gruden is out and his game was over I would try everything possible to get him starting tomorrow

He was a great assistant to Denny Crumb but not successful at all as a HC. He was a good man from all I know. Alan wasn't happy with UT for letting him go but he and UT have reconciled I do believe.

1st of all this is not 2nd tier coaches. Gruden wasn't on a tier.
2nd it won't matter who gets the job, if they don't win soon, the natives will be restless.

I don't care if he is an alien (from Mexico or space) or from Alabama. The guy just won 10 games and probably going to a BCS game. Bring him in, he is going to win and win big in the SEC. Just a matter if its for us or against us.
