Should we sign a Kicker/Punter in this class, particularly Jonathan King or another guy... Thank god Dooley is gone because he wasn't going to. We had the ball at the 15 yard line in OT and 4th and 3 yards and we don't have a guy we have enough confidence in to kick a 32 yard FG. Pathetic in the SEC.

Since Bullock was injured, there is no way to know how good he may be. I would rather slide on a kicker this year and try to sign about 10 defensive backs.
. . . or is it?

Bullock when healthy didn't beat out Palardy or Darr.

IMO kickers are like point guards...you can't have too many. First though, I'd try to find a volunteer kicking coach who would work with these kids. It's quite obvious we haven't done that in several years now.

Well we have some needs in other areas and we currently have two healthy and one injured kickers, but if one was signed I would not argue with it. Our kicking has been pretty pathetic. So I guess if it was down to the wire.....I would sign one.

If King is a good as some people say he is, I would try to talk him into a preferred walk-on role. I wouldn't use a scholarship on one though.

I agreed with going for it on 4th and 3 in OT. I don't think it was lack of faith in Palardy, I think it's because we could not stop Missouri from scoring TD's. I think had we kicked a FG, then Missouri would have scored a TD and won anyway.
BUT, to answer your question, I think we should sign a top notch kicker. Not sure any of the ones we have on scholarship are good enough.

I agree with Bubster. I think we went for it on 4th and 3 because we knew our defense wouldn't stop them. but it would not been a surprise if palardy missed the field goal.

Yes, but it depends on who we hire and what system they install. My guess is that there will be a few positions where our current players don't fit their mold.

The missed FG on Saturday may have been the worst miss I've ever seen. If he made that we would've won the game. Didn't he miss one against South Carolina to? That game could've went to OT. We need a reliable kicker, can't just pray Palardy gets his crap together next year.

This is why I don't mind signing a kicker. Getting as a preferable walk on would be ideal, but we can't keep relying on someone as inconsistent as Palardy. The kicking is better this year, but it's definitely not good.
