Some insight from a gator fan

That we are in COMPLETE disagreement with. Rainey and Demps would start a million times over whoever ur guy is (unless Trent Richardson or Marcus Lattimore transferred in the last 2 days). Hell Trey Burton might start over ur guy. Jordan Reed(our TE) would definitely start over ur guy. Quinton Dunbar and Andre Debose could compete with Da'Rick and Justin.

Now you're just talking out of your a$$. You obviously have not watched 1 second of UT this year. Debose has been at UF for 3 years and Justin Hunter has more yards and TD's than Debose. You have a point with Rainey but, I would take Marlin Lane over them in a pro style O.

Who has said that they're not. All I stated was that our coaches are 2nd to no one. The great Urban Meyer studied spread formations under Jim Channey.

Nobody is mad and nobody voted him down, at least I didn't.

I can't help that he doesn't understand what an NFL Cover 2 coach is all about. I can't help that if his 5 star Dline needs a blitz to get to the QB, that it takes guys out of coverage. Anybody ever seen the Colts, Bucs, or Minnesota blitz on a regular basis?

I'm just stating facts and he keeps telling me I'm wrong. I'm praising his team and he doesn't even know it.

I wasnt trying to call anyone out, i was just saying what makes our board the best on here is that we welcome other fans with open arms. It was for the people who downvoted him and i saw a couple of post downplaying weis's talent. Im all for friendly debates but no need for him to get downvoted for having a biased opinion on his team like we all do.

If you don't even know who's on the UT roster, how can you even begin to make comparisons? Your first post was fine, then you started getting cocky and arrogant over here. Take it back to the UF board - we have better things to do here...

  • Tennessee Volunteer fans should know that the Volunteers run a pro style offense. So the spread has nothing to do with this conversation. Ummmm The Colts, Bucs, and Minnesota all have terrible defenses. So let me get this straight, u honestly think that the gators wont blitz one time lol????? The way to beat Brady is to knock him on the ground with blitzes... same with Rodgers.... same with Manning.... The dolphins last night sat back and play zone defense the whole game and got torched....

Lol.... Texas was in the National Championship 2 years ago -____-...... Weisss as you say won 3 super bowls with the patriots... Moved to Notre Dame where he had avery good offense with Brady Quinn leading (who by the way now sucks in the NFL without Weiss) but had an absolutely horrid defense....... He then moved to Kansas City where he revived the Chiefs offense, turned Jamaal Charles and Matt Cassel into pro bowlers, and led them to the playoffs... p.s. the Chiefs scored 7 points last weekend without Weiss as OC... AGAINST BUFFALO.....7 POINTS!!! u say I dont kno wat I am talking about wen ur clearly wrong

Weis is a great offensive coordinator. He proved that at Notre Dame, but Chaney is a great coordinator as well. He proved that at Purdue. Chaney took two less than sought after QBs and developed them into two NFL starting caliber QBs. Weis's highly recruited protege's are riding the bench in the NFL. That is a fact not my opinion. Another fact is that it doesn't matter, because both of these guys get college QBs to play well and I'd be surprised if Weis doesn't get Brantley to be an above average college QB. Another fact, Belichick's team went undefeated in the regular season and went to the Superbowl after Weis left. Lastnight Brady threw for 500 yards. Belichick's problems have been defense lately, maybe he misses Romeo cause his offense sure doesn't miss Weis. Once again that isn't gonna matter Saturday.

I will say this, Florida has an excellent staff and I believe that Tennesse does too. Not going to belittle your staff as you've tried to do to ours. I also think you have a stout defense, as far as talent goes and I would be surprised if Muschamp doesn't have these guys playing well on Saturday. You have two very fast backs, a little light in the pants, but really fast game changers. All that being said I think we have one of the best offensive line coaches in football and one of the best young offensive lines in college football. We have a young QB who showed he could play as a true freshmen against South Carolina last year and played well against Butch Davis's defense, again as a true freshmen. Hunter and Rodgers are beast. If the Florida WR you referenced is that good, we will be in trouble.

On another note Weis didn't turn Cassel into jack, that was Josh McDaniels if you want to talk offensive coordinators, Belichick if you want to be real.

You obviously don't get the point I was trying to make. Let's talk slowly so maybe you might get it. You have a 5 star player at every Dline position right? If they are getting to Bray with no help do you really think there is a need to risk a blitz?

Please stop, you're making your fan base look bad.

  • I think the biggest thing is that he says we have proved nothing against a weak team like Cincy, and yet he is giving us his breakdown based on watching FL in their first two games against FAU and UAB. I'm not saying FL isn't good or won't beat us, but I definitely saw kinks in the armor, sloppy play/penalties, a weak UAB line making holes against this "top defensive line," UAB QB getting throws off and beating a weak UF secondary (too bad UAB receivers werent good enough to capitalize ) etc... Again, not saying we will win, but The bottom line is that both of these teams are young and untested. But, I have more hope going into this game this season than I have for the last 4 years. And I definitely don't think this team will go into this game scared. They will go into the Swamp believing they can win, and I do too!

A voice of reason who im assuming is a Vol fan but still recognizes the facts.... Tennessee has a very good offense. There defense to me is supect. I believe that Florida will get the one big stop that Tennessee wont be able to get. Those are just my thoughts.

You make respectable points, Gator. Not to say i agree with everything you say, but I'll be the first to admit I'm looking through orange tinted lenses. I think it's great as a Tennessean to be back in the saddle of "maybe we can win this game"! No doubt Florida's gonna bring it. I'm sure it's just as big a game to your staff as it is to ours.

Further, the accolades of the Gator staff are pretty incredible. We had that for exactly one year once. Likely, the Gator staff will prove better than the one we had bolt to USC. But, beware that a "super staff" such as this is extremely tough to keep together. I certainly wouldn't wish upheaval like we experienced on anyone (though I believe most others on this board would join me in saying they believe the change was for the best). I won't speak for anyone else when I say I hope you guys enjoy good continuity in your staff. I believe it would be awesome if UF and UT could swing the power of the SEC back to the East and make the UF/UT game THE game of the year in the SEC East--winner most likely going to the conference title game (barring unforeseen disaster).

I hope you guys go with ONLY 1 loss this year! Cheers.

I can tell you don't live in Jacksonville lol. Most Gator fans share his opinion. They don't watch other games and don't listen to sane people. Hell, talk radio today was all about how Tebow has been mistreated by Fox.

  • Gatorbait you keep bringing up the blitz like we dont have a O-line that could handle it. Last year most of our offense line had just played 2 games. This year its a different situation and I know you believe that Muschamp is a beast and your Defense will run all over us cause of his great wisdom. Lets just not forget this is not last years team so you might want to calm down.

Don't talk about the blitz. He gets very upset. Truth be known, REAL Gator fans are nervous because they couldn't get home without extra guys against UAB and FAU.

I agree with you, in part. It's onething to come over and give your glossy eyed opinion of your squad, while you clean your eye snot off on your shirt sleeve. It is another thing entirely to come over and belittle the Vols in an effort to uplift your own squad. I had to laugh, this is a tactic that Kentucky and Vandy fans have used for years. I am almost inclined to believe this guy is a poser. I wonder if coach Franklin sent him over here. Somebody tell Coach Franklin that we acknowledge that he won July.

He only has 56 posts on 247, so I have a feeling someone put him up to it. It almost felt like it was an attempt to bait the board, and when it failed he started ramping things up to provoke the desired reaction. But we held strong and didn't give him (or any other Florida fan) the pleasure of seeing that.
