  • Listen to MIke & MIke, then cowturd til he pisses me off, pretty much just bide my time til The Drive (3-6)with Terry Fair and what's his name. 100.3 wnox. Once upon a time I listend to the Nick Bonsanto show outta chattanooga(105.1)from 3-6pm. I beat his producer so badly in fantasy football he quit the show and moved back to FL. Then the show wasn't the same, but still loved listening to nick, but then he got a big show in Vegas and left. His replacement was inferior and the producer was an @ss. So I haven't listened since. I'd probably enjoy Swain and Rucker, but once I'm home i dont usually stream radio shows.

What station is that in the Tri-Cities?

640 am, WXSM the sports monster. Here is the lineup.
    Morning Monster 6-10
    Cowherd 10-1
    SVP Show 1-3
    Sportsline W/Bill Meade 3-6
Local sports or ESPN programming thereafter

I hit these programs up and listen to TSR streaming online when possible. Very seldom stream anything on the Sports Animal, 100.3 sports show, or Basilio.

Swain and Rucker on Tennessee Sports Radio is pretty awesome, IMO.

Wes is spot on with this assessment. Treece isn't too bad from 1-3 either, and of course Ainge is a riot.

  • I'm from Bristol and would rather be hit in the censored with a hammer than listen to bobby bud and bill. Thank god for tune in radio, TSR app, and podcasts. I feel like a better fan and more in tune and fresh listening to all the guys on TSR, save Basillio.

  • Anyone willing to post their on-air names? I don't call in, but I post in the text box often as Jared in Destin. Maybe this could be a whole different thread?

When I post in the text box, it's as "Alaskan Assassin". I'm usually somewhere that prevents me from calling in during the show...

247Sports radio every weekday morning with Bill King on Sirius/Xm

I start off every morning with Bill King! He is the best in the biz in my opinion when it comes to college football.

Then it's Tommy Bassilico, 3 Hour Lunch, and then Finebaum

  • BTW, one of the best shows in Knoxville, if not the best, is the Fairway & Greens' Saturday show on TSR from 9-11am.

Great hosts, great callers. If you listen once, you'll listen every Saturday,

  • Technically you can get Sirius/XM up here in Anchorage, but because of the satellite paths, coverage is spotty at best.

What stations and shows do you listen to local and national? List the station for local or satellite. Who do you hate? Who do you like? Who is knowledgeable, and whole is full of crap? Thought this would be a good discussion topic.

I listen to Sirius College Sports Radio, Channel 91. Best show on there would have to be Bill King as he's the most knowledgeable and he has the best guests. My least favorite show on the channel would have to be Jack Arute's show. It is boring and very rarely does he have anything interesting going on and three fourths of the time he doesn't know what he's talking about. His show was decent when Mike Leach was on there and it's better when Rick Neuheisel is on there but I would prefer that time slot be taken over by somebody else.

I loved Arute's show when Coach Leach was his co-host, but you are right that show is unlistenable with only Arute.

Wes may ban me for this, but I just don't listen to much radio of any kind anymore. Way too many commercials for my taste.

I have been entertained by Dan Patrick lately. I watch a chunk of his ESPN simulcast while I run the treadmill in the gym.

+1 for using the proper form of "too". You're the first one in about a week.

You really like Kincade? He usually drives me nuts, particularly his dislike of all things SEC. Tell me he's changed because I haven't listened much at all since they changed time slots.

Ha, I was going to reply to him and ask if he really liked Belue.

  • I am a big fan of all of ESPN radio shows from Mike and Mike to SVP Show, I'm not big on Gottlieb. Here in the RDU triangle it's all ACC lover boy stuff so I usually turn on Satellite channel 87 Fantasy Sports Radio. Very good info if you are in pay leagues or are serious about Fantasy Sports

  • 104.5 The Zone from Nashville. They have a free app so I can listen to interviews or guests that I miss while at work. Getting into The Sports Animal and TN Sports Radio

  • Since TSR took off I have totally switched. I have the app on my iPhone and iPad (can't recommend it enough). If Im in the office or even driving around in my car I always listen to Ainge, Treece, and Swayne and Rucker. I love it. Good insightful stuff from the perspective of former players...and Wes. I would recommend using the text box under the name "I vote for VFLs"- Wes really likes that. I've done it before.

I can't stand shock jock devil's advocate pot stirring troublemaker radio so that eliminates the following: Basilio, 3HL and their idiot in chief, and Finebaum. I also really like it when my radio hosts have heard of things like Google and Twitter and aren't rehashing information that's already outdated or answering questions that a google search for answer with their outdated opinions, so I have banished The Sports Animal from my life.

Nationally syndicated sports radio hasn't ever done that much for me. Always seems like guys blowing smoke in very general terms about things that the local beatwriters know better.

"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one. The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"

biggrin. I have to control myself or I could easily become the board's official Grammar Police. A long career as a journalist makes it difficult for me to wade through all the errors. My favorite is using apostrophes to make things plural. I realize smart phones make accurate posting difficult, so I'll just quit there.
