Stock up, Stock down

  • Whays your opinion after the first game?

    Stock up
-Marlin Lane. Came in 3rd on the depth chart and at least move up to 2nd, if not the starter this week. Solid running by Marlin.

-CP. Dude lived up to the crazy expectations. Enough said.

-Matt Darr. Besides 1 of the punts, he looked like an SEC punter.

    Stock down
-Rajion Neal. Got to get better. Quit trying to break it outside. Going to be interesting to see how he responds
-Byron Moore. He was out of position a lot in the 1st half. Seemed almost lost a few times

  • This is a good way to put thing watauga. +1

How about TIny? Does he lose a little for the motion penalties or does his overall work keep him neutral? It seemed like Bray had time to look around, so I'm assuming the OL did well. It is so hard to tell when at the game - can't wait to watch a replay.

  • Thumbs (kinda) down to the OL, imo. Still not very good run blocking. They are better, bust still not where they need to be.

Thumbs up to the coaching staff. All around good job.

  • Stock up -

CP, Lane, Maggitt, ZACH Rogers, Dooley, Sapp, Sunseri, Tennessee faithful for travelling well

    Stock down -

Neal, FG snapper, Tiny - these guys will rebound and do fine this year.

  • 1. Stock up-> Palardy 2 for 2 on fgs is huge going forward. This trend will need to continue.
    2. Stock up-> Zach Rogers.... Hands of stone turned into hands of glue....
    3. Stock up-> Brent Brewer.... That man child is going to wreck some peeps this year

    1. Stock Down-> Neal.... Was there auditioning for dancing for the stars at the dome Friday night?
    2. Stock Down-> Rivera.... Where was he? It's not that he did anything wrong, but I expected more....

  • I love him, but I would also say stock down on Lathers. Maybe his injury is not that bad and they were just being cautious since Sapp was playing well, but it was disappointing to see him with yet another injury. Guy just can't seem to get a break. If this stuff keeps happening all year that is not going to be good for the D.

  • IMO, Zach answered the bell with DaRicks absence in a huge way. I wanted to see at least three WR threats and we did.

  • I thought Mo Couch had a good game. Very active.

IMO, after CP's reverse, the Rogers TD catch was the most impressive play of the night. I don't think he's gotten enough credit for how hard of a catch that was. He made a great adjustment on the ball with an All-American corner in his heels, saw it in to his hands perfectly, and turned on the jets after the catch. I really hope that is the real Rogers and not a fluke because that was really impressive.

Lathers has been through way too much in his life. It's a miracle he's still playing football... JMO... But it's always stock up on him because he's not quiter.

I completely agree that the guy is to be respected and admired. He is tough as nails and never gets down. I'm not saying he played bad or we should get down on him, but you have to admit it was disappointing to see him in a sling on the sideline considering how much we are counting on him to anchor the D.

I dont think my comment was too harsh so the down vote seems a bit unnecessary. Unless that was you, Herman. In which case I am deeply sorry and I am afraid of you. Don't hurt me.

I tend to agree. I've refused to set my expectations too high for Lathers considering his history of injuries. Not his fault at all. No question his skill is there, as well as his commitment, work ethic, and leadership. The young man is a VFL. The big question is durability and he just doesn't seem to have it. I really hope I'm wrong, but if I'm CSS, I have a good back up plan for his LB position.

Gave you 2 +1's to try to offset. I didn't view your comment as a criticism as much as it is frustration for Lathers personally . I hope so much that the shoulder injury is nothing serious and that Lathers is back for Florida.

  • Stock up to James Stone...NO snapping issues.

    UTvol4life

  • Stock way up to Lane. He was the first to celebrate with Neal after Neal scored.

Way better team attitude that only got better when we dumped Rogers.

agree orange , it looked like he was arguing with the coaches on the sidelines at one point in the game but ended up coming in and seemingly playing well at the end

Just to be clear.. I was not the one to dv your comment. I was stating an opinion. Yeah it's disappointing that he can't stay healthy, but man.... look at everything he's gone through to still try to play. Most people wouldn't be period.
