What if we had 3 or four starters on the team from Memphis? That would be crazy, but I would love it. A real coup and it would pay huge dividends for us!

In all honesty I would be more than happy with one of these guys on team. CCM seems to be doing something right.

If Cuonzo starts pulling kids like Hubbs and Nichols from Memphis on a consistent basis, TN will be a top 10 program.

If basketball recruiting picks up in Memphis, you would think that (winning) football would as well, right?

BIg difference is Cuonzo knows the type of turf Memphis is. Lot of similarities between St. Louis area and the Memphis area. If CCM can make that connection, he should have a good shot at winning their trust. If he does that, they be Vols before too long.

To understand the challenge of recruiting in Memphis, you have to understand that in Memphis every issue except basketball is devided along racial lines.
Even whether the toilet seat should be up or down is argued in terms of black or white..
Basketball in Memphis is not about black or white.
It's about blue or orange.

I wouldn't get all worked up over these youngsters just yet. I'll believe it when I see that they have signed on the dotted line. Then I'll get excited. But Memphis is still Memphis...............if you know what I mean. One last thing: It doesn't hurt that Coach Martin is an Afro-American and that he spends a lot of time down there. Maybe just maybe..........

It ain't about the campuses or anything like that, if you ain't from Memphis it really doesn't make any since, The kids rely on so many people just to make it day to day that it makes you think you can't make it without them, that's why so many kids stay here.
