Being a great player doesn't always translate to being a great coach. Actually it rarely happens.

Being "relentless" can work for a posistion coach but coordination requires teaching in a way that players can understand, accept, and take to the field.

I know Sal can’t be overly happy about Dooley “micro-managing” his part of the team but I definitely believe these guys are showing their professionalism by saying the right things publicly. Plus Sal understands that he has no chance of keeping his job if Dooley is gone, so it’s easier to play ball. Hopefully a move to the press-box helps him call a better game and eliminates some of the excessive screaming that might be causing players to tune out as was discussed after the Troy game. But three more wins and a better showing by the defense and I can again start to see hope for next year. My biggest hope is this year is the last time I have to hope for the following season.

I believe in our players. I'm convinced that they are much better atheletes than they have shown so far.

I believe it is time for Sal to hit the road after the season. Buy him out and wish him well. Why in the world would a team make a major switch in their defensive thinking without the players to play that defense ? Especially with the HC on the hot seat ?

'Micro-managing' his part of the team. The only thing accurate in that statement is 'team' and it's called leadership(late but leadership) not micromanagement. You defeat your own opening statement with those comments. I do agree with your last sentence. No flame intended.
