  • Well vols fans I can see alot of you complaining about Jimbo Fisher but i want you to know the real facts and regardless of what you say you cant argue facts...Jimbo is 30-10 his 1st season he was 10-4 hmm last time I checked FSU wasnt winning more then 7 in like 10 yrs..is 11-2 this year with a upset loss to NC state and a toss up against UF. ANY team in football can be upset even the almighty Bama oh wait didnt a 1yr removed big 12 team beat them? Do you really think that just joining the SEC make them better then everyone?Oh wait didnt Jimbo beat SC in 2010 pretty soundly? I got one more for ya FSU is 2-1 against florida....Fisher is 3-1 against quality sec teams thats what we need someone who can beat them. Not anyone else on these top targets can say that as a HC

  • Has great talent and will not be able to bring all of those Florida kids to TN. I know we all talk about needing a recruiter but we need a guy who is showing results with minimal talent just in case they are not able to pull in all of that talent to TN. I dont want Petrino but he makes do with less talent.

    I think he is a good coach. However, I think many people would expect that, given the massive recruiting base, all the top recruiting classes he's had (to his credit), incredible brand awareness of FSU among young football players (think ESPN named the FSU helmet the most recognizable in America), weaker conference than SEC, etc., that he would have won a national title (or at least played for one). Right or wrong (and perhaps wrong - to be fair), there is a perception that he should have done better with the four aces he was dealt recruiting and conference-wise. He is definitely an upgrade over Dooley though.

    I also don't think most people realize he's only been head coach for three years. I want Davis or Strong at UT, I do believe Jimbo is judged unfairly, just a little, by some.

    I think Davis would be the best hire as well.

  • Think about this when considering Jimbo. He has not done anything spectacular in a weak conference with top 5 recruiting classes.

    If he leaves, FSU will hire a very dynamic coach who will get all those Florida kids excited and he will not scratch the surface on Florida recruits. Ever thought about who might replace him at FSU? That would be a job that would attract the same 2nd tier coaches we are after.
