Sunseri Sealed: UT hires Bama coach

As first reported by govols247, Tennessee on Friday morning hired Alabama assistant head coach and outside linebackers coach Sal Sunseri to be its new defensive coordinator.

Sunseri is a great hire for Volunteer nation. When I heard Buddy Green's name as essentially a lock, it saddened me. Ole' Rocky Top deserves a return to prominence and I didn't feel Green running the D would get them there. However, with Sal Sunseri it's a completely different story. This man is a D guru and as a Saban disciple you can expect Vol D to be dramatically improved already in 2012 not to mention he is an ace-recruiter. Great hire Dooley.

Wes, i am down here in Atlanta. I heard a sound from the north that sounded like 1,000,000 balloons deflating. Was that a sigh of relief from all the Tennessee Vol fans in Knoxville? Have we heard anything from Coach Bisaccia?

This is an honest question...not trying to stir things up. What is the overall opinion about the job Lance Thompson has done there so far? Have not kept up with him since he left Bama.

I like the fact that he was 2011 recruiter of the year, that should put us in a great position the next couple of years. But, recruiting to Alabama isn't that difficult, like shooting fish in a barrel and calling you angler of the year.

great job on this Wes and staff. this is the guy I was focused on since last week (thx to a post by Wes that sent my mind/thoughts about a possible DC to thinking about Sunseri). I think this is a total game changer and I am as fired up right now to be a Vol as ever. this is a big piece to foundation.
thanks for working this so hard Wes and keeping us updated throughout.

Hoover, that's a easy fix.
In the top tight corner of the board, click on "turn off signatures" and that cures your problem.
