Sutton Is Ready To Get Back To UT

Jonesboro (Ga.) High athlete Cameron Sutton is ready to visit Tennessee again later this month, and he doesn't rule out something big happening.

Can you all find out more about this? Not that it really matters. Mainly just wondering if he is talking about all the talk about Dooley being on the hot seat.. Sutton said. “Well coached staff. The only problem is maybe the head coach, but I’m not really worried about that right now.

  • It sounds like opposing schools are really working the "hot seat" issue. A nice 8 win season will end all of that talk. Would love to have Cameron in orange.

  • I just love the fact everyone thinks Dooley is on a HOT seat and gone after this season. If he was the most inept Coach ever he'd be gone, but short of injuries decimating our team I truly think we have a solid chance at 8 wins. I think we would have to not compete and finish under 6-6 for Dooley to get the boot. We beat FL, GA or SC and I think he survives 6-6 or maybe even 5-7. Mainly because who is out there thats better and wouldn't cost the Moon? Gruden would be AWESOME, but he appears content where he is. I personally think Dooley is a good coach who hasn't had much luck run his way. This season that changes. THE BEST 5 WR set in the NATION and 3 QB who can deliver the ball with some zip. Some serious speed in the backfield will help resurrect our running game. Defense will be the Key to a successful season, new system, but much better Depth this season. So hoping for less drop-off in 3rd and 4th quarters.

  • I believe Dooley will be around longer than Spurrier. He's gotta be ready to retire in 2 to 3 years.

  • I hope we win enough to end all the "hot seat " talk. Some may recall former Ark coach B.Petrino, swaying Santos away from us with that same angle.Course to me him and Spurrier are Two pees in a pod.BTW has anyone heard if Patterson cleared yet?

  • The line that Dooley is on the hot seat will look a little suspect when we get off to a 4-0 start this year beating Florida......

    dxhman

  • Hmmmm Ole Bobby Petrino played that card last year on Otha. Spurrier needs to be careful we see how that played out for ole Bobby. If I was Suttons mon I would ask Spurrier to sign a contract stating he would not leave or DIE in the 4 years my son was playing. Be careful Spurrier ask Bobby karma is a bit#h!!

  • I think we will win 9 games this year which will keep CDD around for a while he has done a great job for us considering what he had when he got here we now have depth at most positions so the wins will come and when its said and done this young man will be a VFL.

  • I don't think Dooley will survive a 6-7 season this year. I like him very much and he's done a wonderful job of restoring the program, but I don't think there'll still be enough support behind him unless he can at least pull out a winning season. I'm comfortable regardless. I think 8 to 10 wins and a few late big name recruits. I also think if the season tanks and Dooley is ousted the attrition will be somewhat minimal considering. i hope Dooley is still with us, but I'll always be a Vol no matter who runs the ship. Thank you for V4L Dooley, I know you mean it!

I've heard Patterson is good to go from three different sources. Two websites and a buddy of mine who is working on his phD in Knoxville. BUT, I haven't heard it from ESPN, Rivals, or GV247 so I'm not ready to breathe that sigh of relief just yet.

Sounds like you have a solid head on your shoulders.

  • yes, our receivers, and QB are going to be really good this year, but I think it's going to be our offensive line that will make the most difference this year. We've finally got decent depth and some guys fresh off redshirts ready to go and experienced starters with great size and potential. Not to mention a new OL coach that seems to be solid. What do you guys think?

    ncvolsalum

  • +1 ncvolalum. If Bray doesn't have time to drop back, he can't be too effective. I think the O-Line steps up big this year, maintaining the great pass protection and finally giving the RBs a hole to hit! I'm hoping we have about 9 or 10 "Cincy" games when all cylinders were clicking!

  • It wasn't Santos. It was Otha Peters. Santos decided on Texas when they offered late.

  • I stand corrected Juicy.you are right on.I always seem to get those guys crossed up for some reason.

  • I really wish Hart would just come out and say that Dooley is not going anywhere, even if he is lying.

  • I agree Hart should make a statement. However, on second thought the season will make the statement. We need wins in Atlanta and when FL comes to town. Critical games for Coach Dooley. This staff must have gotten some encouragement from Hart by them accepting positions at UT.

Games are won and lost in the trenches, I think we will have a much better OL out there this year. Anyone read the second year surge on Alan Posey? OMG I loved the quotes about playing nasty, that the way we need them to think and play. Big and nasty, think Pittman is a huge improvement over previous OL coach. Hated Hiestand in Chicago too, better run blockers after he left too.
