  • Good article as always. When do prospects like this actually get a ranking? And their stars? Thanks.

It's different for everybody, so there's really no set timetable. It just depends on when our analysts are able to see enough of a prospect — whether it's on film or in person — to give him a fair evaluation.

  • Is his height and weight recent or was that during his season? And any info on his 40 time? Thanks.

  • Obviously smart, and has UT ties. I could see a player with his size and speed doing very well at the slot. Seems we're in good shape. Surprised Malzahn didn't keep Trooper.

Do you have any input on evaluating high school kids and dishing out stars to the kids or is it done by a select panel or something like that?

That's done by our national analysts.

Thanks man! I got one more question and I'll leave you alone, how do you become one of the national analyst? Is it something that's predetermined, do you have to be hired in, promoted? And do certain analyst have like certain areas like South, North, East and West? I mean I would imagine that you wouldn't have an analyst from California analyzing someone from Atlanta, or would you? I know it may sound like a few crazy questions but I was really just curious. Thanks in advance

Some of our analysts answered a bunch of these questions several days ago in another thread — maybe someone can find it for me and link it, but I can't remember now which thread it was in — but our national analysts are hired into those positions. They're there for a reason: They're some of the best in the business at what they do, and they have a great eye for talent. All of them developed great reputations with other companies and have continued to do great work for 247Sports.

Unlike other companies, we don't have national analysts assigned to certain areas of the country. We try to allow everyone to see as many people possible. It's hard to rank guys when someone who covers the West Coast is debating where to rank him against someone from the Southeast he's never seen. It's much easier to compare apples to apples when everybody evaluates everybody.

I agree they are the best in the business and so are all the guys on our site. You guys do a helluva job and I always feel like my monthly fees is money well spent. Keep up the great work and thanks again!

  • This young man sound like he's wanting no help from his father..It's good for him to make his own decisions..

  • I personally believe it will come down to Tennessee and Auburn for Blaise, with the familiarity of Martinez giving us a slight advantage. So long and Trooper and Willie were chummy, then we should be in good shape. I've never been so hopeful for a 7-8 win season before and after this year, I hopefully never have to be again.
