Tee Martin

I keep seeing Tee Martin mentioned in the staff listing for a part of Charlie Strong's coaching staff. Is there ties there? I remember coming across an article saying that Tee stated that he would leave to come back as soon as he got an offer. Big fan of his and he is one hell of a recruiter. Whatever coach we get as the HC they better make sure to reel Tee back in and let him come home.

It would be up to the HC. No AD will require a HC to hire a give asst. The AD wants to be able to fire the HC if it doesn't workout. That said I think a HC would hire Tee if at all possible.

I don't know of any direct ties but they would have recruited many of the same recruits while he was at Kentucky. I'm sure their paths crossed at some point. In addition, I don't think it will take too long for someone to point out the potential to bring Tee back.

Tee would walk back to Knoxville to be on a staff at UT!

Tee is also the lead recruiter for guys like Ramsey and Hatcher. Just a smart move for any coach. Strong and Tee would make for one hell of a recruiting duo. Then add in Graham and others and football could get real fun around here again.

I disagree. I was thinking today that given all the money UT has tied up in guaranteed contracts for its assistants (thanks Dooley), Hart is probably at least addressing it with the candidates. I doubt he is requiring a coach to hire one or more but might look more favorably on the candidate that promises to do so.
