Tenn at Miss State Predictions

He barely gets touched. I don't think that will completely determine the game. I would say our running game is more important to help keep the State D honest. If I had to pick one thing determine this game it would be if Neal gets 100 UT wins.

This isn't talked about enough. I know Bray needs to be consistent and not fold under pressure. If Neal can get his yards like he did against UGA, UT will be balanced enough that MSU can't send pressure constantly to rattle Bray. That's the most intriguing battle for me tomorrow.

It won't do any good to go back and watch our earlier games because we ain't showed nothin. We have played very vanilla on both sides of the ball. If you do go back and watch you will See a very different velo tomorrow

I think you're overestimating the playbook. I don't see how State can have a game like the one at Troy and play 2 SEC teams and not show much. It's 6 games into the season. You can't go half way through a season and not show much. Every team has shown pretty much everything by now. There may be, and a lot of times is, a few wrinkles for conferences games, but neither team will see anything vastly different.

There is probably over 15 plays that we seen in the past that we haven't seen 1 time on offense. On defense we haven't seen hardly any of our blitz packages. So yeah i will say we ain't seen near about all of our playbook

there is a solid chance we pick tyler russell off several times.. that kid is over rated and always has been here are his stats against South Alabama...Russell 13/27 171 yds 0td 1 int granted im sure he has had better games this season but that is still TERRIBLE

FWIW...Russell's throwing hand was injured going into that game.

  • I think the Vols offense finally clicks on all cylinders and the dfense plays well
enough to win on the road.

    Vols 31, MSU 21.

We are decent at stopping the run. We have some damn good linebackers and we have some pretty good linemen also. I think we have a scheme that will get pressure on the qb because we have such a good secondary. We will probably bring 6 every play

Ha ha ha. I only wish you would bring 6 every play and leave those DBs exposed. Then you would find out why Bray, Hunter, Patterson, Rivera and several of our linemen are headed to the League. We may have problems on defense but our offense stands with any in the SEC.

If you've seen those plays I'm guessing the Vol staff has seen that film as well. I mean, do you seriously believe that you have seen plays that the UT staff wouldn't have?

If you're referencing the designed QB runs, I would smile a bit. Russell may run one now and again, but you're a better team if he doesn't do it all the time. Personally I think he will have a legit carry or two in the game.

Nope not talkin about those. But you forget we have dak Prescott for those if we need to run them.

As you would find out why all 4 of our starters in the secondary are headed to the league as well as all 3 starters at linebacker

I wouldn't say I've forgot Dak. I know more about State ball than some State fans. With my friends/family here in Starkville, I havr an avid interest in the Bulldogs. Shoot, I was here for Super Bulldog Weekend. I would be in maroon and white today if it was anyone but Tennessee on the field tonight.

Dak may get the situational call here and there, but I think State will put the ball in Russell's hands on a run once or twice on plays that Relf or Dak would normally run. I would consider it myself if I believed Tennessee would ignore the idea that Russell could run. I think State could catch the UT defense flat footed in that regard.

Should be a great game. I'm excited to see it. Will be thrilled for the Vols to win for what it means to the team and to Coach Dooley. I've told that to my State people here already. I have joked that State already has 5 wins...they don't need this one :) If State wins it sets up the Bulldogs to be undefeated for the Bama game.

Not ideal for me personally, but having very happy friends and family down here is alright with me as well.

  • UT 31 Miss State 27

Tennessee will get the run defense straightened out with Dan McCullers playing the 3 technique in a 4 man front. The offense will be the offense, I look for the UT run game to play a bigger part in this game than it has in many games this year. I think the O-Line is gaining confidence and so are the backs. Pittman and Graham have done wonders with the run game so far this year. Two more weeks can only help matters. With the size of Miss State's DBs, I think Pig and Rivera also have a big game with the underneath stuff. I think limited possessions caused by ball control and effective rushing by both teams will slow the game down a bit over the expected "shootout" many are expecting.

  • Just a little PSA to all Vol fans. Don't listen to anything deltadawg says. We really don't on our board either.

And for those of you coming to the game enjoy your day in Starkville
