This really fills a need. Simply being consistent within 40 yards and getting elevation on (and making) extra points should win him the job. More distance and strength will come with time.

Preferred walk-ons simply are guaranteed spots on the 105-man roster. Ordinary walk-ons are guaranteed nothing and have to earn a spot on the roster.

Coaches are telling him he will be on team and have a chance to earn scholarship- a regular walk on is through try outs and on practice squad until he proves himself

We very much need improvement in the Kicking Game (" Press the kicking game. Here is where the breaks are made." )!

WOW! Imagine being able to win close games and not being afraid to send out the kicking team. Haven't seen that on a consistent basis in awhile. Welcome aboard!

Maybe we all wont have to hold our breath everytime we kick a extra point and just enjoy the 6. I like the confidence in this kid, most important position to have it at. (other than qb)

It's always interesting to me reading the quotes from the recruits concerning what the coaches told them about the prospects at their positions.. It's such a fine line the coaches have to walk between not insulting their current players, and still highlighting opporunity for the recruit. I expect the current players understand, to get good recruits, we need to sell them on opportunity. More than that, at this level, everyone must or should understand, the best players are going to play, and your spot is not guaranteed merely because you started last year. Especially after a down year..
