I was just thinking the same thing. 4.75 40yd from DBs is not great.

Correct. Quarterback from Austin Peay. He played at Knoxville's West High School.

  • ZR's numbers for the shuttle and 3 cone is pretty impressive.

    StokedVol

  • Maybe Sal should have lined Lathers up at CB

I agree. Pretty solid 40 times, too. He might have helped himself today.

  • These numbers make me wonder why Zach Rogers wasn't considered for a position switch. He appears to have the quicks, height, ball skills, and long speed to play corner. He might not be the best tackler, maybe he would, but we weren't strong in that area with what we had.

  • Thanks for posting this, Ryan. Wes is done with interviews and he should have some good quotes, photos, etc.

I was thinking that Lathers probably earned himself an invitation to a camp today. That's pretty good speed.

  • Hey on a Positive note.. Congrats to Ben Bartholomew!!!! Dude tore it up. did any of the haters notice his 3 cone, 20 and 60 yard cone numbers??? they are easily comparable and in some cases beat CP's and Zack's... thats ridiculous at 245! Not to mention all his other stats that are great for his position.

I hope a team takes him I know he'll make it if so... Fullback / HBack and special teams!!!

Great Kid too... Good Luck Ben!

  • How did Bray do throwing the ball? Did Hunter, CP, Rogers, and Rivera do good catching, running routes, etc?

I asked this in an earlier thread, How does Pro Days work in relation to the current staff? Did Butch participate as far as drills are concerned or do the scouts run the drills?

  • This not a slam on 247 or their competitors. Every year I look at numbers like these and realize I probably never knew how big or fast any of the players I follow are. No matter how many of these sites I visit or magazines I read or whatever. Again, 247 can only report the information they are given, so I don't blame them.

This leads to the question of why the teams lie about their players. I'm sure every opposing coach knew we had 4.7/40 cornerbacks last year. So, the only ones fooled were us - to the extent we were fooled.

If we had known for a fact that Teague and Waggoner were that slow, we would have known by Game 1 that Sunseri's defensive strategy was fatally flawed and that he was fatally flawed as a DC. Poor Teague was brought in as a 4-star APB and forced into a CB.
Remember how triumphant we felt when Kiffin signed him? Just keep that in mind with every other 4-star we sign this year.

i would like to see the coaching staffs report the truth about these players. Seriously, the opposing coaches are watching game film and know the truth. They are not being fooled.

^^^^This!^^^^ BB is one of my all time favorite Vols. Always gave 100% and is a high character kid. I wish nothing but the best for him and would love to watch him play on Sundays. K/W/R, I know him and his wife were expecting a child, any word on that? +1 pc21. GO VOLS!

BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!

I agree w this. I never liked Teague as DB and felt his talent was wasted. Does make you wonder what the past staff was thinking.
