Folks,

Over the last month, 247Sports has been working on a text alert feature for annual subscribers. It’s been on our test environment, but today we have released it here before expanding the product across all sites in our network.

So here’s what you need to know.

If you currently have an annual membership to this site, to sign up for the alerts, simply click on the “My Account” link at the top site in your tool bar and click on the alerts tab.

If you do not see an alerts tab, it’s most likely the result of your home site set to another site other than govols247. If this is the case, you can still access your user options for this site by going to the following URL.

http://tennessee.247sports.com/user/options

After going to user options, there will be a field for you to enter your phone number (XXX-XXX-XXXX) and a check box for Tennessee football should automatically be checked. MAKE SURE THE BOX IS CHECKED. Although it just says Tennessee football, don’t worry, we’ll be sending out alerts for all Tennessee news.

After adding your phone number and making sure the box is checked, click save and you’ll be all set to receive text alerts from us. (Note: After adding your phone number and clicking save, if you don’t see your phone number in there, it may have reverted to a different tab. Just go back to my account and/or refresh the page again and it should display. You do not have to add the number a second time. This is currently a display bug.)

If you are a monthly subscriber and wish to upgrade your account to annual so you are eligible for text alerts, there’s a green upgrade button at the top right of the site. You can also upgrade through your user options by clicking on “My Account” and clicking the "alerts" link. After clicking on the button, you’ll be sent to our upgrade page with details on our annual offer. Click on upgrade now and you’ll successfully upgrade your account with us from monthly to annual and will be eligible to set up text alerts.
