Sadly not a lot of jocks being worn anymore. Compression shorts did away with the jock-strap market entirely. But yeah you can fling some rolled up socks a good 20 yards with one.

I had been family friends with Coach Fulmer for quite a while- so he knew me pretty well. But every single member of his staff used to know us by name. Lane was a different story-he didn't acknowledge our presence at all himself and most of the assistants were a holes. Coach Cregg never knew my name at all. Chris Scott, Josh Mcneil, and Jaqcues used to just yell Thomas really loud whenever they wanted my attention to see if he would pick up on it...he never did. Under DD it was a mixed bag. Coach Chaney was honestly one of the greatest people I have ever met. My hatred for Harry Heistand is legendary however.

This is the best way I can illustrate it:
Before every season Coach Fulmer used to take all of the managers up to his office and basically tell us we weren't anybody's b****. We had a respected job to do and without us the team wouldn't function. It was awesome. Then when Lane came he literally had Dan Reeves tell us that we weren't allowed to talk to Lane in person and if we had a question we had to go through a "liaison".

And DD basically just thought that since we were equipment managers we must be retards. Disregarding my 4.0 and MBA.

Just to say this beforehand-A lot of the things said here will be my opinion based off observation and talking to the guys as friends. So I wont name names or get too specific when it comes down to things like this and unless it's a first hand story it isn't gospel...

But to answer your question-they didn't respect him. At all. Didn't respond to the way he coached and many didn't like him. They way he tried to teach was absolutely belittling and when he would try to tell "stories" to coach players up in the huddle after practice they were mainly just stupid and players didn't respond. He didn't know how to relate to college football players at all.
