The Matchups: Vols-Wolfpack

Very fair and detailed analyses followed by many 'Advantage: Even's means this will likely be a very close game.

I am going to say if all else is even in the match-up, I'll take a run game advantage for the win - that and who gets the turnovers, and at what point in the game do those turnovers happen.

Its not a stupid question until you ask it.

  • another x factor i've been thinking about is we have alot of film on state and they should'nt have much of anything on our defense.shouldn't that be a big advantage for us? i mean we should have the element of surprise til halftime anyway.
also is there anyway to know how good they are at making adjustments.

They will bring plenty of heat — that's what Dooley, Sunseri and the players all want to do — but if they do that they have to affect the QB. If they don't, they won't win this game, IMO.

Would be refreshing to see a Vols defensive line that can be disruptive again. Remember what that was like?

  • I did not know about their LB situation. We really should be able to run on them.

State's been watching Bama film to get a sense of what Sunseri will do. (Accurate? Sufficient?) Wes or Ryan commented in one of their articles about how that uncertainty for State is a two-edged sword: UT's defense has never been game-tested, either.
