  • You gotta think that whatever happens to Dooley, Sal Sunseri has to go. I don't think we have held ANYONE to less than 500 yds in a game. And giving up over 700 yards to a Sunbelt team?!?!?! Holy cow...

I have been trying to preach a good amount all season that year two of the 3-4 is when we really turn it up on defense, but this type of showing by the defense makes it impossible to see the brighter days ahead. They have gotten worse as the season has dragged on. I'm not really sure what Tennessee is going to do, but we really need help on defense to finish this season and something has to change for next year. I wonder if they try to find someone to be a co-defensive coordinator if Sal's contract forces us into keeping him next year

If we had seen a little progression on defense up to this point it wouldn't be quite as bad, but NC St was by far our best game of the year and we've gotten progressively worse as the year has went on. IF Dooley does somehow make the cut, I really don't see anyway for Sal to be the DC next year. I really doubt Dooley makes it though.

  • If you think about next year probably no Hunter, Bray or Patterson. Oregon and Florida back to back on the road in September. Do people really believe we will better next year ? If you are a big time recruit who wants to play for championships, do you believe in Dooley from what you see on the field.Do people believe we are really better this year with this defense, remember this time last year no Hunter, no Bray, no Patterson on offense. If we bring Dooley back I think we have accepted our fate to be mediocre, As much I want to I sure don't think we are headed to championships. I miss Tennessee being significant.

  • Dooley needs to make a statement and fire Sunseri tomorrow and Dooley can call the plays himself(can't do any worse). Giving up 721 yards and 48 points to Troy is unacceptable, and its not because we switched to 3-4 or not having talent, its because our defense is not being coached! On positive note good job on our Offense stepping up and carrying the team.
