The hatred towards USC and Kiffin

  • Why are so many Tennessee fans still obsessed on what is going on the West Coast? I might be in the minority and totally expect to get down voted, but shouldn't we move on and worry about CBJ and staff instead of what another staff is doing? It seems every day someone posts a new story about Kiffin. I don't understand why as a fan base we are still infatuated with the guy? When is it time to move on and forget him?

    It's human nature to enjoy watching a SOB who torpedoed your football program get what's coming to him. I want to savor every negative Kiffin story. I want to see Little Visor Boy crash and burn. Heck, I'd even enjoy reading that Layla had filed for a divorce. pray

  • I don't think many Vols fans go out of their way looking for Kiffin bad news stories, I think they just find them while doing normal sports surfing and like to share them with other like-minded people who take a little pleasure in his situation. For me it is even easier because I never liked USC to begin with. Most fans can still picture him talking such a good game about how we were going to beat the gators and rule the SEC for years, and how he loved being the Vols coach, only for him to bolt back to the west coast so fast. Some just feel he lied with every breath and shamed the school. Not an easy thing to get over. Many Vols fans probably won't be totally over it until he is done with coaching. Personally, I'm over it, but I do have small flashbacks every time I see his face on something. Plus, he is so over-hyped as a coach. Just my twocents.

  • I understand what everyone is saying, it just seems we focus on Kiffin more than any other team. Why not take our hatred and hate Alabama? That is who we all should hate. They are the true snakes and cheaters.

    One point I will make is that he did pretty good things here, i.e. look at Crompton and our offensive line using two walk ons as starters. I moved on though right when he left. Sure it is funny to laugh every now and then, but I would rather hate every other team in the SEC than USCw.

    I can do all three: support UT, hate CLK, and move on to bigger and better things with the vols.

  • I think if we start winning ten games per year it will change but until then when UT losses I look for something in college football to smile about, right now that is CLK struggling. If USC is great next year and Urban struggles, ill smile about that.

    No matter what UT does, I'll still hate USC and Kiffin. I've always hated USC, ND, and tOSU because national media suck them off all the time.

    I agree with this too. I hated USC pre lil kiffey BC of this. Him being there is just icing on the cake.

    I hope you're not viewing the post about the article on Lane & the little off topic thing I posted about how I thought there was an announcement of his firing as an obsession.

    The guy took an opportunity given to him by Mike Hamilton, then disregarded the need and/or want of the UT faithful for stability after a rough season and the firing of a historical coach for his own personal agenda. To find some joy in the karma that's about to hit his fan is something every UT fan can relate to in some fashion.

    I find that 99.8% of the posters on this board are level headed, and most of the time rational, regardless of differing opinions, and I wouldn't classify anyone as obsessed or infatuated with Lane or what's going on at USC, or any other team for that matter. I also don't believe that anyone is letting it get in the way of their opinions on CBJ and the new staff and direction we're taking now.

    I mean, at most, MAYBE two to three posts are put up about Kiffin every few days or so , and it's not difficult to just not read about him if it annoys you enough to post about it.

    I'm still pissed about Charles Woodson being awarded the heisman over Peyton Manning, and I was only in 1st grade when that happened.

    Funny thing about being a TN fan, you never ever forget being slighted.

    I get your point and you do make a valid one, but it's hard to forget about someone who brings your University down as much as he did. As far as move on, I think most of us have but there's nothing wrong with having a good laugh, whenever we can, at Kiffin's expenses!
