I get it that everyone did not make good grades in English class, and that some folks can't spell cat if you give them the c and the t.

But it does matter. Just like you wouldn't wear a green plaid suit to a black tie dinner. You just can't tell all those people in black tuxes to get a life. If you think "I seen" and "he done" is passable, think again.

People do judge you by the language you use, even on an informal chat board. And time isn't an excuse. Their and there are the same number of keystrokes.

RockytopATL and I have made our living with words, as do the board mods. None of us expect perfection, but we also don't expect contempt and hostility to the language.

@Chartervol. Obviously you have a much lower threshold for what you consider contemptuous and hostile than me. I respect your opinion but I disagree with it. I am sure W/R/K appreciate your comparison of the site to a black tie dinner. Meaning no disrespect, however, I choose to view the board as more of a BBQ. If somebody has a stain on their shirt, I'll still hand them a beer and ask them how their doing. The subject of proper laundering practices would never come up.
